Here's one for you to mull over...

Chap came into the shop today and was curious to know if there was anywhere we knew that would be suitable for RC model tank battles.

1/16 tanks that use lasers or BB pellets to shoot other tanks, need an area about 30m (100') square bit rough where they could put bushes /trees and derelict buildings and lay rolls of roofing asphalt to represent 1/16 scale roads etc.,

Top corner of the old 1/8th track springs to mind...

Think we're all pretty much singing from the same song sheet on the old track......level the lot and astro, build wooden, astro covered 'features' and have it as a multi purpose area - that way it could be an 1/8th track (including the corner on the 1/10th where the loop is) - pitting area, car park, runway for RC planes, arena for RC tanks, the possibilities are endless!

How soon can we afford to do it?

While we're on tyhe subject this shows excellent use of wooden jumps at Herts:

Well if the 8th track is to be re-modelled to be predominantly flat in the middle and banked around the outside then as long as everything is removable then it sounds like a perfectly good if not a little random idea!
