Not a case of getting bored, in the case of the 1/10th rally, had that before I bought my 1/8th buggy - just be nice to have a facility where I can race it 'properly'
As regards the crawlers, personally I would rather build one from scratch, or modify cheap parts rather than just buy a ready built or kit. The trouble with this aspect of modelling as opposed many of the others is that we are assemblers rather than modellers - where you have to be able to manufacture or fabricate, not just screw together.
Overall, I had always hoped A1R would grow to accomodate every form of model motorsport at Gonerby Moor - for the benefit of all. |

i couldnt agree more with the 1/10 car, have a look at rccrawler.com,there is loads of stuff on there, people have been trying to build ther own crawlers for years but never get it right, its not a case of i think ill make a crawler today,i do agree with you it would be nice to model one, loads of people have done it but like i say its has taken them years to get right,as with model planes, there are people who buy kits and people who make there own from scratch, there usually dirty old men who have nothing better to do...........................i will pop over sunday to see your hand build from scratch crawler |

What have we done to deserve a moronic and derogatory comment like that, may I ask? |

In reply to grasshopper here is my crawler project in progress: buy donor model and modify. Moved steering servo over axle, extended wheelbase and locked the diffs. More to come. http://thestuntman.myjalbum.net/Wheely%20King/ |

Garry, not deserved - just awarded in the pursuit of reaction - the clever bit was in the typing - boys with toys (lower case =1/10th, MEN with MODELS (upper case = 1/8th) no offence meant - what's your problem, sense of humour bypass?
Stuntman - it's alright for you 'singlies' time and finances to suit yourself....looks good, seen the report on the donor model as standard issue, did you fabricate the nodified parts or are they available over the counter? Also will the supplied gear ratio be low enough, or do you change that as well?
As regards a track, can you sustitute pallets and such like for rocks and hillocks - or do you know a quarry owner? |

I modified the parts but you can get them over the counter, also I will be lowering the gear ratio. You can make a track out of anything you like see this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvj-aGO9iJw
As for the grave yard unfortunatly no one has been buried recently. |
