Thought we'd better continue here - our discussion re Jap cars was not really to do with an event....
"Been looking at the toymoto avensis amd the mazda 6,went to ireland to watch the WRC and had an avensis as a hire car diesel d4d very nice car didnt want to give it back.."
reverting to your youth? did you give it back? It might be a nice car but an Avensis? - you might be that old but do you have to live like it?, if you wear the regulation cardigan you'd look like Jasper Carrott! |

One marque I forgot to mention was Subaru - Chris's new estate (sensible family car) is quite nice - haven't driven one but definitely like the look of - and not too mainstream boring.
My brother bought a Mazda 6 to replace a 3 series - got a cracking deal from the dealers. He spends a lot (60k pa.) of time in his - well pleased - but he doesn't worry too much about resale values.
I've just replaced a Ford with a new model Mondeo Tdci - very nice - totally different from previous model - the old one, from new always sounded like a bag of rusty hammers at idle - but drove well. The new one spot on all round - the interior is a bit Japanese - psuedo bling but okish. What about VW ? Passats are cooler than an Avensis - in fact Skoda's are cooler than an Avensis - Octavia, another good car |

Im still looking, but i think it will be a mazda 6. Now that crimbo is out of the way might be a good time to sell the maverick and buy a mazda privately,(cant stand dealers they are all tosspotts)and thats being nice |

you can get second hand Lexii as well - I'm not buying 'new' new anymore (unless I get six numbers)- I'll pick up an ex demo or otherwise less than a year old - or seriously go back to leasing.
Where the money comes from is just semantics - it's our business so long term it's still our money so it's still out of our pocket ( that does make sense doesn't it?) |

Japanese Cars are o.k.!
I have succumbed and bought myself
This will stop me getting stuck at the track - as I did with my last car AND I got a Toyota Auris T180 as well (for the wife) a veritable pocket rocket! It's a diesel 2.2 litre, 177 hp engine(same as my BM!) and only half the size - goes really well! |

Been looking at those easy to erect pergolas for use in the sun / rain, now I've got space to get all the gear in. The 5 was a great car, just not suitable for hauling gear into fields. |
