We have had an invitation to participate in this years Kit Car Show, Saturday 16th June at Newark Showground - rather than just give a lunchtime demonstration as last year, if we get enough numbers we can be incorporated into the racing fixtures.
As it is relatively local, it might be beneficial to the membership and the hobby, if we turn up in force and give a good show -and it would be nice to have a day out - anybody interested ?

Carl and myself have been discussing for a little while. The general thought are we run one meeting with race control and rostrum between the two tracks. On road on the tarmac and off road on the grass. |

you could set the buggys up for on road, and they are so much fun to drive, you could do some jumps to take off and land on with the track running though the middle, |

best display for getting the crowd around is using the buggies off road with some good sized jumps. Melton showed proved this last year. The rain came and the rest of the show ground to a halt. we went out in the rain and mud and we still had the crowd fixed to the side of our area. Most of them got covered in mud as we went past. It was quite a spectacle |

its not the track that gets the crowd its the racing iv been in a deserted car park next to a football pitch, and within 10mins there are more people on the carpark than there were watching, all im saying is it cant be easy sorting out and keeping one track going never mind 2 |

got to disagree to a point, on road displays best on-road and rallycross and truggies display best off-road.
With proper organisation 2 tracks and one race control will be fine. It will just need some careful thought and planning. |

I must say that I was not aware that Carl was involved in any organising the kit Car Show event????
He certainly has not spoken to me about it?????
The main problem with doing OFF ROAD is the space required, remeber it is a KIT CAR SHOW nad most of the space is taken up by them, NRCCC used teh tarmaced entrance to the new main hall which is not very wide and even then we had to wait for all teh cars to be put in to the hasll before we could practice......
I will be speaking to the organisers to see what extra space they are willing to let NRCCC have for this year....... previously posted in wrong section ..........What No EDIT option?????

“Carl and myself have been discussing for a little while”
Chris
The Kit Car show and Auto Jumbles are some think that Tony spent a lot of time and effort to set-up. They don’t just happen over night, and we had some complaints from last year, and if it were not for Tony this year would not be taking place.
And although I think it would be beneficial to the promotion of the sport as a hole to have some Nitro cars racing their you need to make all your discussion about what, when and how with Tony. Not Carl.
I myself will be chatting to Tony over the next few weeks and as soon as a cost has been set for this year, I will be posting registration forums witch will need to be submitted with full payment two weeks prier to the event, so that races can be set and entry passes can be send out. |

steady on lads teddies back in prams please...it was only a comment regarding a conversation I was having with Carl in the shop. Basically that it would be nice if we could also run at the show.
I didn't imply either of us where involved in organising the event!!
Trust me I know how much effort goes into these things as I have successfully orgainised many of these type of events in the past.
As Phil said he would talk to you tonight Tony.
It's Tony's call at the end of the day.
If we can race the nitro then the entry will be higher if the nitro races on grass not tarmac.
Cheers

Ok, back on topic
Some info on last year for the people that were not there.
Below is an image of the area we had last year, the grey area is tarmac the green is grass. We did not use the grass area last year. The grass area is nearly as wide as the tarmac area, witch is not very wide.

You can see more images from last year on the NRCCC website. http://www.nrccc.co.uk/360vt/index.html
The weekend was split into two separate race days, with trophies at the end of each day From memory the cost from last year was £3 per day or £5 for both days. (most of witch was spent on trophies)
We are allowed to camp over on Saturday night. There is entertainment on in the pavilion on Saturday night.

So Gentlemen,
Saturday 16th June..Newark Showground......who is actually up for this event ? Once we have some commitment, we ( more like Tony )can then get on with the arrangements for the days events.
I shall have a sheet for you to fill in with names and contact details next Tuesday which I shall pass on to Tony.
From the plan supplied there will be space for a bit of grass / rough but if we just treat it like a multi-surface track we should be o.k. I have asked about ramps/jumps etc but I'm still waiting news on this...more later, watch this space. |

Took a sheet down this evening - and Steve took it round and has got 20 interested in this event - it seems that most said that they could only manage one day out of the weekend and those that expressed a preference said Sunday. I shall put this to Tony and see what he says - more details to follow as soon as I have them. |
