There has been discussion about creating a smaller track for the 1/10th scale rally cars - those that look like 'proper' cars, with nitro engines - these require a smoother track due to only having little wheels (ahh, bless) - we would like to design and create a well rolled, narrow(ish)clay track with low jumps and a few technical bits. if there are any interested members (new, old or potential) please register your interest on this thread so we can have a count up....I'm in, so that's one. |

Got it in one Ian - the banter was aiming in the direction of the barrier between us and the kiddy mx track, on what's our over spill car park ( where the mound of soil currently is ) if we were to create a hard clay - well rolled surface suitable for cars like this http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/43512focus03xbg/index.htm . There were quite a lot sold in this area and I was led to believe there are a few after school clubs that use them. It would act as a dual purpose area club nights for rally racing and park on it when we have a 'big meet' The track design would be relatively simple as these cars are not really suitable for big jumps - but are great for drifting round corners - so the track would be flat.
It's just another idea to utilise what is an expensive bit of land we have to pay for - the extra car park sits empty a lot of the time and it would be another aspect of model motorsport we can support. |

| Sounds like a great idea, would be good for electric too. Maybe some of the electric Newark guys would use it. Wouldnt need to be very big, just a third of the big tracks size with just a small basic rostrum. Quite cheap to build and it wouldnt get ripped up like the 1/8th track. |

| Electric's good too, eventually we would like to create a venue for all forms of model motorsport - be it electric or nitro, petrol could be a possibility but the larger scale needs more space.. |
