Hello,
I'm thinknig of getting back into RC and plan to pop down to see the club one Tuesday evening soon. I didn't realise there was a club so close, I live only a couple of villages away.
Is racing now on every Tuesdays at Gonerby? (subject to the weather of course) What time does it start start on Tuesday evening?
Is the primary racing in 1/8th nitro buggies or do you have enough members for trggy and monster truck classes too?
Cheers,
Garry

Hi Garry,
We run mostly 1/8th nitro buggy and truggy races, an equal balance of these - but due to the easy going nature of our club nights then most anything's welcome - bit of a 'run what ya brung' kind of evening.
We try and start around 18:30 and run till it goes dark - you're more than welcome as a spectator if you've no equipment or a participant if you have any form of r.c. vehicle.
Locally there's Access models (shops in Newark and Grantham) who have a representative on site on Tuesday evenings and there are currently some second-hand deals from members that are up-grading to other vehicles. Come down and have a chat one Tuesday, no one bites. |

Thanks mate. Will try to make it down next Tuesday evening. I've got nothing RC at present, sold it all with the Revo last time I did RC, couple of years ago. I'll chat to the guys at the club, always keen to pick up bargain.
All nitro or is the brushless developments making any inroads?
Cheers,
Garry |

Still in France, looking forward to coming down to another race session and chatting to you guys.
Where is the laughton indoor place? Can I have some directions or a postcode for sat-nav, thanks.
Who ran the brushless caster truggy? I'm keen to chat to them about brushless as the silent battery setup would be much easier for me at home - difficult neighbours.
Thanks,
Garry

Thanks for the indoor information guys, will check out the location on Google maps and see how to get there.
After some careful purchasing of 2nd had stuff and a getting hold of a brushless buggy I'm almost read to turn up, look daft but have a great time trying to race.
Went brushless to keep the peace at home (difficult neighbours) plus its allowed me to practice and work on setting up the buggy in my garden.
Probably not quite ready for next Tuesday evening but hope to be alright for the one after that (got a couple of extra lipo batteries to buy after pay day). How many races do we get time for on Tuesday evenings?
Cheers,
Garry

Hi Garry
Depends on numbers really, we always have a minimum of three but usually we will squeeze four in.
How many Lipos have you got now? |

Got four Trakpower 4900 lipo's now, used in pairs so enough for two races.
Re-charging takes about 50mins for each 2S lipo from flat (not flat but a sensible cut off voltage of 3.2v per cell).
Going to buy another pair or may be two pairs to finish my lipo collection.
Still planning to treat myself to a better radio set, want to check out both Futaba or Spektrum.
Cheers,
Garry |

Anyone know what transmitters are in stock at Access Models? (assuming better selection at Grantham shop).
The Savox servo I got from the Newark shop is superb - cheers guys, superb servo.

| Despite being a past user of Futaba (since the 70's), I have now, and cannot fault in any way, Spektrum radio gear - into my third year and the radio combo' (Tx and Rx) have performed faultlessly - thrashed a few servo's, but you can't have it all ways! |

Thanks for the advice, I like the look of the DX3S from spektrum but also fancy going back to sticks which only leaves Futaba 3GR. Will head to Access Models and look and try them both if I can.
Do Access stock Spektrum?
Cheers,
Garry |

| Don't forget that if you want sticks you can buy a 4+ channel Spektrum sets which will bind with their three channel rx's |
