Evening Andy
First heat will be on the line for 7pm as usual. I will put some signs up just to help direct everybody for the first couple of weeks.
Cheers

Signs will be a good idea - the electrics don't make a lot of noise...but the tent will be glowing! |

Hello, I'm new to this and was thinking of popping down to see what its all about on Tuesday 12th October 2010 to the Arena UK venue, with the possibility of becoming a full member. Just a question though, it says on the events listing that this is an ELECTRIC OFF ROAD event? Does this mean no NITRO cars? I'm a big Nitro fan and thats what i plan racing and joining for.. please would someone advise me. Many Thanks - Graham |

Hi Graham,
Unfortunately Tuesday evenings are currently (argghh pun!) electric only as it's an indoor venue, on carpet.
Why not pop down anyway and make yourself known - we can tell you all about the club. We are having a winter outdoor nitro series at our astro track and you're more than welcome to join that. http://forum.a1racingclub.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=610
When you become a member you have access to the track for practice pretty much when you want, and other members come down to set up and have a bit of a bash.... |

Hi Graham,
As Phil (Grasshopper) says, come and say hello and meet the friendly bunch, its pretty much the majority of the nitro crowd that are racing electric for the winter.
I will have to check to confirm but there may still be a couple of 'club cars' available to hire for nitro drivers that don't want to splash out on electric for the indoor club meetings, if you fancy some track time.
Even though we will only be racing nitro at the club winter series sunday meetings, until the daylight hours are longer again, as a full club member you get 24/7 access to our outdoor track at Gonerby Moor, so you can go and play/practise with your nitro when you like.
I'm sure some of the nitro hardcore will be interested in meeting up at weekends at the outdoor venue for some playing.
Mark. |

Howdi all. There has been some talk about indoor venues recently. Would it be worth asking if we could rent one of the many empty large buildings/warehouses one night a week? One that springs to mind is the HUGE warehouse that many years ago was Texas on Trent road. It is massive and partly carpeted as i remember as it was recently 'Precious Little Ones' baby shop. What do you think? |

The chances of someone 'letting' a big property on a once a week basis would be a long one - but there's never any harm asking! |

I thInk we have been here before with this building. I think Ben inquired when it was empty last time.
There's loads of issues with this and any other empty industrial unit. These include business rates, insurance and security.
And as Phil says, no one can be bothered for one night a week. |

I have a couple of cans af spray adhesive which I will bring on Tuesday evening. It is designed for glueing carpet to wood flooring and dries very quick so should work well. |

Spray adhesive seems to work very well, could do with about 5 more tins to do it all. I have one more but could make it 2! |

What is the earliest time I can go on Tuesday evening? I am off work in the afternoon and want to go early (about 4.30ish) to stick the carpet down. |
