Beat the winter blues everytime - we were the last plane out on the 18th before the snow came and they closed Heathrow, it took them an hour to de-ice the wings on that occassion. Had a fantastic cruise around the eastern caribbean, got back to Orlando and were told our flight to New York was cancelled because the airports on the east coast of the US were snow bound, next flight could be two days later and the connecting flight to Heathrow couldn't be guaranteed.....OO bugger!
Had a little chat and got a direct flight to Gatwick with Virgin at Continental Airline's expense and after coaching from Gatwick to Heathrow to collect my car made it home to Grantham before our original arrival time to the UK, result!
