Unfortunately the company delivering the free soil didn't have a lorry in this area - but we're hopeful for sometime this week.
Whilst I know that we need more topsoil, a few of us had a go at dragging some of the soil that's been displaced to the edges of the track - and after a little sweeping the track looked nice and flat - admittedly it could have done with water and a roller but it shows the potential if we put back what the tyres have slung all over the auction...
If anyone that's coming Saturday has one of those rakes that is cut/ pressed from steel (bit like a comb as opposed to a wiry thing) can they bring it. that'll help in regrading the surface....
It's looking like the water problem could be sorted for the weekend - As well as the equipment already mentioned, you might like to bring a rain proof jacket and wellies - just remember there's no bad weather - just bad clothing
Does anyone know if we received the 'promised land' (i meant the soil - but that sounds better!) - looks like conditions will be perfect tomorrow for working on the track - hope there's a few intending on turning up....
A good day's work today - the track looks marvellous, the soil didn't materialise, but we've managed to level and smooth the trackout - whacked it all down - but we still need water.... the following pictures should show what's been achieved by only seven people.
we've smoothed the track, cut the grass/weeds, fixed the fences, laid some slabs, put safety stickers up repaired the marshalling points - and a general tidy up.....and I'm knackered. Any questions ask them here.....
