Lewis uses Ec3 plugs, i did but went on to 4mm gold corally tube type connectors when i got diferent LiPo's with tubes in them.
I would recommend you go with Deans connectors or EC3's, that way you won't connect something up the wrong way round and cause fire or fry your electrics, either way ask Phil or Lewis to fit them as they need a proper solder joint and heatshrinking. |

Aren't ec3 connectors similar to the ones that com on some Lipo's already and XT60 connectors are a new one on me.
As long as they're rated correctly, impossible to connect backwards and the right price for all that you need then it's a case of 'you pays your money and makes your choice'
They will all need soldering properly and suitable heatshrink applied to strengthen the solder joint and insulate it in use. (not applicable to ec3). One other point to consider is removal of the connectors if you have a battery or joint failures - ec3 connectors are not the easiest to remove once fitted often leading to damage of the housing - the connector is then duff and needs to be replaced rather than used on another pack. |

EC3's are the blue plastic connectors that have a 4mm male and female connector for each side of connection, Think its a Losi design as they came on the Strike RTR's but haven't seen them on anything else.
I've always used corally types but it is very easy to get it wrong if you don't check when connecting up... Lewis nearly wired a LIPO backwards into my car on tuesday... which is why i double checked before connecting it up and switching on!
I would go with Deans plugs, they are idiot proof as long as they are soldered on the right way round in the start. |

Shouldn't have to heat shrink ec3 con's - the cable is soldered to the metal connector and then inserted into the plastic body far enough in protect the joint.
if you buy lipo's from that place in Hong Kong or it's German warehouse some packs come with them fitted - and they're polarised to avoid a 'Lewis' moment!
By the way Jake, you will buy hard case packs if you buy Lipo's won't you? |

All you need now matey is lots of practice ; )
with 6 of those Lipos you will be able to do a months worth of race nights on one charge!
Your postman will be happy carrying that lot to your house!
i would leave the brushless kit in its packets until you can get some clean laps in, its all about the tortoise and the hare (or the grasshopper and the chimp)... if you are slow around the track but clean and don't crash, you will get better positions and more laps than flying around hitting track markings and crashing.
2 perfect examples for comparison are Tom and Chris, both use the same HPI Blitz chassis and tyres, one is sensible and drives smoothly within his and cars ability taking care to keep on racing line, the other has a stupid fast motor and bounces off everything on the track and surrounding fences... result: Tom wins, Chris comes last! |

If I knew you were going to spend that kind of money Jake, I would have charged for the loan of my SCT! Now you've got it all ordered, when it all arrives just make sure you look after it properly and it will give you good service for years.

I'm presuming I'm the tortoise? the slow but steady that finishes the race?
There's more than one way to beat a chimp.....http://www.fukgames.com/game/47/spank-the-monkey |

here are the Proline beadloc wheels that Tom uses, Phil uses them too, they are used so you don't have to super glue tyres on and can change tyres over easily.
