You were playing with receiver wires, have you plugged the speed controller in the wrong way round? Have you got a full battery in, as steering will work on a flat one but motor will not?

Have you swapped motor wires around?

motor wires shouldn't make a difference as it's brushed so would just run backwards (unless of course it has lots of advance timing...) it's unlikely that it will be the motor that bleeps - the ESC more like. Can the motor actually rotate - if it's jammed or the brushes have worn, that might cause a short across the comm' and make lots of heat but no motion - did it get wet this afternoon ?

Check all of the plugs and sockets to everything, make sure they are where they are supposed to be and the right way round.
Ensure the motor and wheels can rotate with little resistance, read the instructions and set up your ESC again, then report your findings

Then un-jam it!

Take the motor out and use some of that posh brake cleaner on it to free it up, probably got sand in it from your excursions around the car park.

Don't keep putting power through it, it probably needs the springs and brushes freeing up but if there is sand inside it will destroy the commutator and brushes so don't run it until one of us or Lewis has checked it on tuesday if it won't free up, you will only damage it and possibly burn out your speed controller... which can be kept as a spare when you fit a brushless system later.

Modified timed brushed motors will run backwards as long as it doesn't have schotty (or however its spelt, been a long time but they explode with reverse current) diodes fitted... they won't run for long though and will get very hot before meltdown but you can usually tell when its too late by the amount of smoke coming out of them!

You can normally tell by the fact they don't rev very quickly too.

Remember my Slash at Carnage 2010, killed 3 brushed motors in big smoke and flames down the straight... there is a lot to be said for brushless kit.

pass, you need to see Lewis, although one of the members might have a stock motor from a rtr Blitz etc that you can use to get practice in?

pretty sure they are under £20.

Chris (admin)? Phil? Tom? Ben? Ian? anyone got a spare brushed rtr motor in pit box for this young man to keep him running?
