Before you start fiddling with setups Id learn to get the full potential out of what you have got. Find a baseline setup and LEAVE IT THERE. Here is mine if anyone is interested....
Front ride height = arms level Rear ride height = driveshafts level Shock oils = 40wt all round Diff oill = 1000wt with oring mod Springs = Standard RTR ones (I think they are grey) Inline steering knuckles
Angles = I cant measure them but for front camber I just turn the wheels into full lock and roll the body as if its going round a corner. Set the camber so that the outside wheel sits upright. Rear camber is a bit more down to driver preference as they also drive the car. More negative camber = less grip for accelerating and breaking. You always want to run a bit of toe out on the front of the car to help with turn in, and a bit of toe in on the rear as it keeps the back end in check when under power.
Also never overlook the slipper clutch, its can transform how the car drives. On the carpet you want to try and find the point where you get good drive out of the corner without losing front grip.
This is the setup I have used for every race I have run since last winter in the small marquee at ArenaUK. The only thing I have varied is front toe angle.
If you do play with setups, remember that 90% of changes have a tradeoff.
Very good advice Tom. I would also like to add that Toms set up has along with good consistant driving has made him one of the top SCT drivers at A1racing club! so it is worth listening to his advice.
