Howdi all. Last season on the outdoor track I was using Coarse Kings on my SCT. Is that what everyone was getting the best results with? |

yeah dBoots felt good and was running the ones i've been using inside so both sets have been worn aleady... not giving a full recommendation until i've tried a set from new and know what they wear like on Astro and tyres working or not will change between cars and set up.
We all know Kourse Kings work but thats all that was availble last year and there are more competition based tyres available since...
The Schuey SCT Minispikes were not available until we went indoors so nobody really knows unless they are tested at A1... theory says that Schuey Yellow minispikes will be the tyre on dry Astro as thats what are run and work on buggys.
There will be a big difference in grip between dBoots/Minispikes and the hard Kourse Kings, but there will also be a massive difference in wear rates, the competition tyres are going to be a lot better for grip but won't last anywhere near as long... a set of Kourse Kings would last a whole season pretty much, i bet the others will last a month of club meetings before they are dead... dunno though it's a guess, got to start trying them to find out.
I'll be getting a pair of new dBoots and a pair of yellow minispikes to run on the back end... knackered old Kourse Kings with rows dremelled will be staying on front end as you don't need grip the same on 2WD, as long as its giving enough steering then fine.
dBoots have the Multibyte pattern tyre for SCT's coming out soon too, they are designed as an Astro tyre, just to add another choice into the mix! |

What's everyone using at Coventry on the dirt, cos last year course kings did not work at all, I ended up destroying a pair of bullseyes!
Think the best choice was some very soft prolines? |

Think it'll be the kit Losi Eclipse dirt tyres i've kept unused that will being tried first..... or the Proline Holeshots and ribs on front that are in for oOple RHR dirt meeting
something American, soft and small patterned will be the way to go if its dry dirt... Prolines, Jconcepts, AKA, dBoots Nanobytes might be good when worn, think thats what i'm trying on front if kit Losi tyres are pants.
if its wet we are racing on their Astro track so you'll need your spikes as well in case.
Definitely no point in running kourse kings or other spiked tyres... no chance against the proper dirt tyres.
Also as usual advice, go out to practice as late as possible, especially on dirt cos the other cars sweep the track and the dust off for you so practice is on a more realistic race surface.
Have put the word out for a Blitz for you son matey, might be 2 coming up, Brooky will let me know asap, got offered an ESE for £100 but thought that would be too steep for a beginners car really. |

Is anybody using 0 offset? Now that I have gone over to a Blitz all of my 0 offset wheels are up for grabs as I now need 4.5 offset.

Ok mate, will ask Brooky again about the ESE, he knows of 2 standard Blitz's that should be available soon too, so will keep nudging him.
Will keep an ear out for dirt wheels/tyres with Blitz fitting too, i'm not 100% sure yet for mine but looking for any cheap suitable part worns that will fit mine... on SC10 rear wheels are fine as i can fit them, pin or Hex otherwise its 0 offset 12mm hex fitting wheels from SC10 4x4, Slash Pro Trac type or Losi SCTE 4x4... if anyone else spots any going cheap? |

now that was quality timing, hold onto them Ian till i've seen you please mate ; )
might be able to get hold of a load of used Blitz wheels/tyres too ; )
There shouldn't be anyone else in the club anyways, but i need them cos my XXX-SCT has been converted to hex's all round. |

Will hang on to them for you. They are 12mm hex 0 offset, I have some mini pins almost new and some part worn, and some very good Kourse Kings. |
