For the benefit of the newer members....

Tradition has had it in the past, except on the very first race meet at the Rutland Arms, when it precipit pi55ed down most of the evening and we adjourned to the pub. It has always been dry whilst we've been racing - and if memory serves there was usually sunshine, albeit sometimes just in a tiny spot in the field - but sunshine nontheless.

Tonight was no exception, I left the field, went across to find Burger King was closed, went back to the car and it siled down.

Tradition has been maintained, long may it continue.

And so, Grasshopper the 'Sun God' prevented the track from becoming moist for one more week. Can he do it again? Find out next Tuesday, when even the Noisy Cricket may make an appearance...

In all seriousness though... It was interesting to see how the club has changed over the years... If I try hard I can still remember the days where the forum meant the big building with the wooden roller rink in it rather than a page on a website...

Oh ye of little faith!

T'was Tuesday and there was racing again
Lo and behold the absence of rain.

A sprinkle did fall whilst on the rostrum I stood
I thought it was Tommy next to me spitting, not good.

T'was a diddy wee shower, it didn't last long
three races I finished and nothing went wrong!

Having used the internet and checked both the BBC and MSN, the weather reports for Tuesday are cloudy yet dry, temperature with highs of 14'c and lows of 4'c - then rain on Wednesday.

They say it shines on the righteous, and we are justly so - remember your wellies and galoshes, it'll still be damp underfoot.
