From where do you need collecting Ian? If you give us a bit of a clue to your location we might be able to sort something - but you don't really need to bring a shovel, we've a few spares and you could always be in charge of a wheel barrow... |

Ok everyone. We won't have a JCB tomorrow. But next Saturday we should have a digger, dumper and roller to get finished.
I have just spoken to Ben and he is going to organise some pallets from his work we can use for shuttering the sides of the small jumps so at least we can get these finished.
This wood will need collecting. He is going to give me a ring first thing.
If anybody has any creosote brushes we might as well make a start on painting the fence and fixing the pit ramp?
We are also going to need plenty of tools etc.
See you all in the morning... |

nice work guys, will be there next time for sure, no more races for a bit lol. those jumps will be mint when wacked down and nice astro on top. one little trick is to damp the jumps before wacking them and apply a bit of cement dust before astro goes on.Result will be silky long lasting jumps, |

Things seem to be coming together quite nicely now, if we can guarantee getting the plant equipment for this weekend, had enough volunteers we might actually get some of the astro laid - or am I being too ambitious?
I've set aside Saturday (despite protestations from the other half) and hope that a lot of you can make it too. If there's anything other than what we have on site that we might need please suggest it and we'll see if we can acquire it before Saturday. |

If we get some plant on Saturday I think we only need a couple of people. If that happens then it can be all hands on Sunday. Does that sound like a plan? |

I can do only one day at the weekend - anymore and I'll have a divorce I can ill afford!
I can see where you're coming from Carl, but anyway you look at it we will still need a spread of volunteers. If we get a roller then literally as he has rolled an area we can lay astro turf over it. The planned digger and dumper will need to be working on the banked corner and table top on the far bend - the rest of the labour can be laying astro at the other end of the track.
What we need is a confirmation of plant availability, and a reasonable weather forecast. What we also have to realise is that there is now a predicted finish date to our indoor season of the end of May - which means we have only weeks to get Gonerby sorted. I think everyone knows what needs doing, two work parties over the weekend is possible if we have enough volunteers for both and someone who wants to take lead on a particular day.. |
