Of course we do, after trying Deerdale and Blyth outdoor circuits I am definitely interested in Grantham having one.

The gonerby moore should be available still but we still come to the problem of cost...

The amount of money for the setup cost for an outdoor track is very expensive..

Has anybody got ideas for money raising or ideas for different outdoor venue ??????

It's not so much the money costs, it's the labour costs - the more guaranteed volunteer labour we can rely on the better.

It would be great to do both as regards indoor / outdoor - I suppose that ArenaUK have a lot more equestrian events on in the summer and we would then ousted in favour of the higher paying horsey event so we would benefit from having a seperate permanent track. However, if we give up Arena during the summer, we might not get back in come next winter - it's all politics and money.

I'd be willing to help out as much as i could with any labour work

It would be good if we had a track that was set up all the time outside, from what i've seen of video clips on the net there seems to be quite a few good tracks around.

hi,iv raced on out door tracks,an out door track is always changing, you can race on it and an hour later its changed, thats not a bad thing as it makes you think a bit more about set up,but as they are usualy mud, when it rains it really is a killer,it might sound fun but its not,if you want to race on an out door track before you decide go to stoney stanton,(its closed)

hi guys,

I think that we have quite a good turn out on a Tuesday evening at Grantham, However, it is a mad rush for me to finish work and drive all the way down there and get there on time. Im sure its the same for many others .
we have all enjoyed the driving during the winter months at Arena, but come the summer people will want to go and play in the sunshine and my concern is this.

I wonder if our numbers will drop through the summer to out-door tracks such as Deerdale, J28 and Blyth .

I think we just might be forced to have a track out side, or be a winter club for a lot of people

I think if I’m honest I would rather drive all day around somewhere like Deerdale with the sun on my back than race down to Grantham on a Tuesday night to have 15 mins driving.

Im just being honest, I like driving around Arena as much as anyone else, but I think we will struggle without an out door track.

Si

Would the club be giving up the arena if it decided to run outdoors?,if thats the case then i would vote for the indoor track.like a lot of people say there are clubs that cater for 1/8th/truggy but how many of them can say they have an all weather stadium to race in.
How many people would you get on a wet cold winters night/cold wet winters day/cold wet summers day/cold wet summers night if the venue was outdoors, ive done it and in door appeal's to me even more after a good race on tuesday night...

Originally we where only going to have an outdoor track. The club was started at the side of the Rutland Arms wich we started to outgrow quite quicky. Ben then persued this piece of land at Gonerby Moor to allow us to buid a home for the club.

The Arena was just a stroke of luke to some extend and allowed us to continue to race through the winter. When we started to race at the arena and the weather was still decent then we raced outdoors on a piece of grass they let us use.

The outdoor track was/is always an extra to the indoor Arena. We are very lucky to have the facility and proably should have people queuing out the door on a Tuesday night....but that will come in time!!

Where else can you race a Nitro RC vehicle in the middle of winter when it's dark outside??

I don't necessarly think it's a case of "do we still want and outdoor track?" it's more a case of how we go about getting it sorted.

We have the land, we have the planning permission, we have a container on site for race control annd a rostrum. But we still have many obsticles in the way before we can use the venue. The biggest being financial.

We must also remember that we need to keep "in" with the Arena because it is a cracking venue for the winter when nobody can race outside.

C
