an out door track is the way ahead , j28 will be closing so we could get people from there if we had a track . indoors at arena is good but its not realy what its about . out door tracks are moor of a challange moor jumps ect . has anyone thought of asking arena if they have a bit of land we could build a track on , it would reduce the cost if they have and it would keep the relationship with them going so we can go indoors in the winter . got to be worth a try . if not how about adding £1 on race fees to go towards the track , i know its not much but it would be a start . we should try to arange a meeting to discus what is needed and what people can offer towords geting going . i hope i havent upset anyone but we need to get on with it if we are going to do it or nothing will happen . i think an outdoor track could pay for its self if we can get it going . i will do anything i can to help and im sure others would to . |

i think that this would be a good idea as j28 is closing the only thing is why is it closing??
We do need to have an outdoor track but the pennies have to add up. The only worry to me is that people want the track but alot( not all ) do not want to pay the extra.
I am in discustion about the other track and sounds possitive and will let you know here as soon as i have some news i understans the imprtance to get it ready soon. |

Rumour has it that the Track site and surrounding area has been bought for develpoment of some sort.
So more people will be looking for somewhere else to race.
If we had an outdoor track at Grantham I am sure we could attract a lot of racers due to our location. |

I'd have to agree with Jackboot. we have lots of people north and south of us and we are smack on the A1 and easy to get to for all, and with the immanent closeure of J28 we couldnt be in a better position. I also agree that an outside track would pay for itself, we could put championships on for very little outlay and save the money for rent and track maintenance etc. I cant see the same attendance happening for us on a Tuesday evening inside Arena UK. the trouble is without it we wont get it and if we dont get it now we never will.
Again only my opinion, but i think we have to do it guys. |

O.k. so it seems a very positive thing to do, can each of you list your 'specialist' skills? for example, does anyone have access to ground moving equipment, hardcore, drainage knowledge, tarmac laying equipment or better yet a wealthy relative they're really in with?
Does anyone actually know how big an acre is? - 4840 square yards - do your own maths. What about a track design - those that have raced elsewhere could do with putting pen to paper and drafting out a plan ( with dimensions) and showing features that they think suitable.
More news later.. Please bear in mind cost and ease of construction |

Does Notts/Lincs need another outdoor track in the area?
Even with J28 closing, there's still Deerdale and SPARC within half an hour's drive.
How about a permantant indoor track like at the Neo Buggy race at the end of last year? |

| That would be great, but i dont think what we have at Arena will compare to the Neo buggy venue. |

there are links to clips on maxbashing, its a massive hanger like you'd expected to be used for aircraft, and in it they have made a purpose built track out of soil and clay which looks something like an american supercross track for motocross bikes.
check out maxbashing and see for yourself, its a big thing thay've got going on. |

Its a bih hanger like Simon says, that is at a college, filthy students use it to practice driving tractors and the like.
Every couple of months they ship in a couple of hundred tonnes of clay/dirt and make a toy car track out of it. ;)

indoor would be great but unlikely at the moment. if we do do an outdoor track i feel that the location is perfect and also the track i have in mind fully multisurface floodlit ect and also good pitting area.
how far would you travel for a great circuit ?
I went to j28 and thought it was ok i think we could better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
