| hi the choice for truggys is hard as there are a lot of good ones out there .are you going for a pull start or starter box i know some one that is selling a hong nor crt pro with engine and servos all it needs is a radio the engine is a pull start and all he wants is £200 for it the hong nor are very strong cars and the spares are as cheap as chips the hyper st is a good car aswell same goes for spares they are cheap and most rc shops have a good stock of spares for them |

Now I don't do truggies as such, racing a Hyper 7 buggy - but I did buy a TNX truck - my intention was to buy the Tamiya Nitrage Truggy thing to race. After doing much investigation via the internet - all reports regarding the Tamiya were not that good. Despite the Tamiya name it is over designed and too complicated as a reliable racer. And if anything like the TNX expensive on spare parts!
If I was to commit to Truggy racing (probably after this next season )I would definitely go for the Hyper ST. They are popular, capable and not overly expensive to run. |

Thanks for all your help. I've bought a Hyper ST and spektrum handset. Will be running engine in this weekend...
Whats involved with tuning the engine? Are there any particular tyres that we run?
Cheers |

well done with the st,as for tunningmake sure you run the engine in proply as per instructions, make sure you back the plug of(undo it a bit)when you start the engine,as this makes it easyer to start, make sure you do it up again when its started, you dont realy want to run it in when its freezing out side because the sleave heats up quicker than the piston and will wear the sleave out quicker, also if you have a hair dryer pre heat the head and it will start easyer, when it comes to tune, turn the high speed needle first, look at the needle as the face of a clock run the car up and down for a min bring it back turn it again(only turn it an hour at a time) run it for a min, keep doing this untill you get a crisp engine tone,at this point the car should still be a bitboggy on the pull off but realy nice on the top end,now you can tune the bottom so that it pulls of with the same engine tone,if your not sure ask somone at the club and im sure they will help you out, enjoy mark |
