Simon, a definite 'Yes please' collecting from Peterborough shouldnt be a problem and it will help prevent some of the erosion on some of the jumps etc.
Thanks, and please keep us informed.. |

Great news Simon
We will probably get as much as ecomonical to transport, if that makes sense.
I have asked Dave to get some transport costs.
Cheers

i will keep a close eye on it because it would seem the local golf corses are very interested !!!

This is something we (as a club) need to get organised as soon as possible - we need that astro turf to make the track better for everyone - volunteers would be great please.
This £50, is it for a fixed amount or as much as we can shift? - if it guarantees our supply I'll send you the fifty quid myself. And finally how big, exactly is a hockey pitch? |

We are on the waiting list with McArdle for some astro the next time they lift a pitch.
This is what the guy from McAredle said with regards to size and weight when they lift it:
“For info you will get around 600m2 on a 40ft lorry. We take up in sections around 2m by 15m and roll ready for collection
A roll can weigh up to 0.70tonne as it will contain some sand. A full pitch is 6000m2” (I assume he means a football pitch)
From a Google search a hockey pitch is:
Pitch size – the pitch is 100 yards (91.4m) long by 60 yards (55m) wide.
So I surpose we could do with knowing from the surfacing contractor how they intend to lift the old pitch. And again the approx length and weight of the rolls. (It may be different Astroturf to a football pitch?)
Dave is working on a price for some proper transport, ie a decent sized wagon.

| Had a look at the pitch last night to see if i could see any joins but there are none so not sure what will happen ,might be a good idea to take some shape knifes with us ,something tells me its going to be a heavy job so getting plenty of people might be more of a issue !!! have sent some e-mails out today to see if i can get any more info . simon |
