Evening All.

We have the oportunity of an INDOOR venue for the winter season.

it's about 20 mins from Grantham towards boston off the A52.

More info here:

http://www.lmec.co.uk/

Postcode: NG34 0HB

The arena is 25m x 75m so gives plenty of room. There is full facilities including toilets and burgers and chips etc.

I will go back over in the week to run a car and see what the surface is like.

So lets here it, is there enough interest for a Tuesday evening?

I'm for it, and if there's anyone needs a lift out there on a Tuesday evening from the Grantham area - I've got space for a couple plus gear.

We would love to hold an indoor Sunday event - but at any equestrian centre I'll bet the weekend rates would be enormus.

I will ask the question LB, although I might have something else up my sleave. It would'nt be every Sunday but could be used for a indoor winter series maybe.

Usual sort of time Dave. 1st heat on for about 6:30. Depends on numbers as usual. Last time we raced indoors it proved extremely popular!

Apologies everybody. I haven't had a chance to talk to my contact today about testing Thursday evening. I will make a call first thing and post straight away if it is possible.

Good news, if there's anyone in the Grantham area that's interested and wants a lift out there I'm leaving home around 7:15 and have a limited number of seats - and space for a buggy or two....

Well we went, we saw and we said YES!!

For those of you that remember ArenaUK : this new place knocks that old place into a c**ked hat. Laughton Manor Equestrian Centre seems to be a well run, clean, tidy and generally impressive venue. The arena surface seemed a lot drier that ArenaUK and certainly DOESN'T have that 'distinctive aroma' that a lot used to comment on.
Even the natives are friendly!

We are being allowed the use of the main arena to race on (70m x 25m) and the holding pen to 'pit in'. All well lit, but dress warm.

There is a restaurant/snack bar on site that serves the usual fare from cakes and sweets through to bacon rolls, burgers and plated meals -non-licenced, so no booze. Restaurant area a bit bare but clean and warm. Toilet facilities all excellent.

We ae intending to use half round guttering for track marking and wooden jumps so it's a quick set-up and pack away.
As far as I am aware we are going to race there next Tuesday evening 23rd Sept., might be a bit impromptu - but come down and try the place out.

for your Sat Nav: NG34 0HB
or look here http://www.lmec.co.uk/

more information as we get it - any queries, ask.
