Hello people.
1st post :) and would like a tad of information and thinking from others so to guide a semi newbie back into the sport.
I have been into most aspects of RC through the years, apart from planes, could never get the bleedin hang of them!! and I used to race 1/8th back in 94-5 in the British Nationals along side Booth, Craddock, Hazelwood etc but had to pack up due to a redundancy at that time. I wasn't much cop but used to give it a go! I now wish to get back in to doing a bit of racing with you guy's in the A1 club. I have been re-introduced into the sport by a group of mates that I used to fly kites and race class 8 Parakart kite buggys with - you probably know them as Nick and Carl who are now active most Tuesday evenings down at Laughton Manor. I have been with them on the last two race evenings held there in a view of joining them and the club and hopefully beating the arses off of them in time :D Only joking :)
OK - my questions:
I have set my mind on a Kyosho ST-RR with an OS V-spec engine. Can anyone suggest any more engines as good as these that I could consider with as much power and reliability Oh! and that will be happy using good ole OS8 plugs :o)
?
Radio gear will be 2.4GHz but 2ch stick control and not rotary. I used to Run Futaba back then but can't remember what type - any suggestions, pro's and con's?
Servos? I used to run KO FET servo's, high speed, V-high tourque. Back then they had the normal 3 wire lead to connect plus a honkin gret set of +/- leads direct to the battery! Any suggestions of servo's to use nowaday's?
What amount of good aftermarket bit's are available for this car?
And last but not least - where to purchase all this stuff from including ally hot up bit's and bob's for the car? I think I have decided to buy the standard car kit from Greetwell models as they seem to be very competetive on price but where else should I consider to be able to take a trip one Saturday and get everything I need?

I know it's a lot of questions and I will be very appreciative somehow or another of some information.

Thanks
Jim

HI Carl and thanks for the info.

I think I would like to purchase New but would be interested in a price for the ST-RR as I may purchase as a spare.

I will take a closer look at the RBS range of engines and the servo's you mention
