well done to ben for trying his hardest to find a place we can all race, but i think we are looking at a big problem in a field rather than a possible race venue,i know we wont be able to race at the arena for ever but lets not dive into the first thing that comes up,i know its small but we do have the pub as backup if we cant find anything soon,we need to start with a good dry field,
just my thoughts, its not good if we need to spend £1000 before we even start thinking about a track,if you turn right out of the gates at the pub(diry duck) go to the end of the road and turn left go up the road past the houses and turn right at the cross roads,as you go up the road about 200 meters there is a very good field that belongs to belvior castle, might be worth a phone call

I can understand that the drainage is going to be the problem but spoken to a few other people and over the summer i do not think it is going to be a bigger problem as first thought. If we get a track up and running and we have got a bit of a prblem with some sections we solve each prob as we go a long..

I dont think i am flogging a dead horse at this point as have been to j28 when very wet and boggy and also inthe summer where good racing has happened..

Dont forget what these cars are designed for.!!!! NOT TARMAC!

We should also look into the possiblity of another location but we will have move fast on that one and time for me is minimal at the moment.

I dont think that is what reg(mark) meant by it not being any good,i think he meant that it will take an allfull amount of money to get it to a stage to use even before you think of putting a track on there.
I the club had unlimited amount of funds (ie grasshopper) then it is a fantastic place out of the way of people's houses BUT the bloke we spoke to this morning was against us using the site when he is there racing motocross and that meant sat/sun and if the club wants to get it up national level then you need a place that can be available 7 days a week.
I know what you mean about water and other track's ive been to other clubs where you would rather race a boat than a buggy....

Despite the bleak first meeting, as a first fact finding visit it went well - my shoes are bollo#ed though, next time I'll wear wellies!

Now with the suggestions that Integrale1 (Pat) has put forward in his unofficial capacity of Chief of Groundworks (hence forth COG) we know a little more of what we're up against.

Now, does anyone have access to 2,000 tonnes (metric or imperial COG? ) of road planings, and about the same of quality hardcore? Anyone related to a Civil Engineering family ?

Does anyone know someone that can give reversing lessons to a Honda Accord driver? - I can see we'll have to set land aside just for a turn round spot for certain jap car drivers.....

p.s. If I had unlimited funds I would gladly donate them for the benefit of all - but that is not an option - I checked my lottery ticket and only got one number....

2,000 tonnes not 20,000,f*ck me you could recover the hole of the A1 with that amount.
I thought the accord had been fitted with a circus steering wheel so that when he turned right the wheels turned left

typo' corrected - just checking to see if you were awake...I thought if I over estimated we might get a percentage, besides one of my kids was chattering at me and you know.......

why wait for it to dry out - let's build hovercraft....

What do you all think about haveing a go at the track down at gonerby moore...

I think we should have a go at flattening the ground and making a track just to use for now and progress as when the money is available ?
