Hi Beds,

The Tuesday nights at Laughton are not 'off' - but currently a bit 'hit and miss'. This week was a c**k-up due to a double booking. The venue has had a lot of people excercising their horses following the lack of riding because of the snow.

Following a few turning up on Tuesday and finding the place taken, we all 'naffed orf' to the village for a chip supper and went back an hour later. Quite frankly, we couldn't be bothered to set up and just chewed the fat for a while then went home.

Next Tuesday 26th has been booked as a definite so if you would like to pop down, please feel free, you'd be more than welcome.
We look to start the first race for 7 pm....dress warm!

Thanks for the info Grasshopper. Id like to come and give it a whirl, but am busy this Tuesday.
Will it be posted up when the next date is available?

Also, if racing starts at 7, what time can I arrive and roughly what time do you finish?
Lots of questions I know, but I can guarantee Mrs B will ask ;)

A lot of us turn up around 6 to 6:15, then we have to lay the track out, order our food, play with our engines.....then we get booked in and start around 7ish.

If everyone mucks in ( and a lot of time they don't!!!!) we get cleared up and away by 9:45 / 10:00. A few are excused clearing away because they have long distances or young'uns that have to get to bed.....or so they say.

Tuesday nights are a socialable club night, the racing is a bit laid back really, but it gives you an opportunity to practice, tune and set up - if you're that way inclined. We usually stop for a half hour break for food and refreshments.

It's our intention ( numbers dependent) to race on Tuesday evenings until the clocks go forward and we transfer to our outdoor track.

Even if it's one weekend for a visit, depending on my shifts and diary, let me know and I'll meet you down there and you can have a practice - I only live 5 minutes away.

And remember, for Ms Beddo, Downtown and Boundary mill is just across the road so there's somewhere warm and shop-like for the better half! (the catering is reasonable too)

I'm up for a couple of hours practice and testing plus any work the track needs following the weather.

Are we likely to be back on calender for the winter series?

Thanks for that Dave - I'm sure there'll be a few work parties WHEN the carpark dries out a bit.
Getting on the carpark is okay is you've got a 4X4 - and I'm willing to tow you out if you decide to visit!

Thanks for the evening schedule info. As I'd be coming from Scunny, I'd have to get through Lincoln at rush hour, or set off at 3ish lol. What are the food arrangements? Fast food deliveries etc?

Catering is on site at Laughton, burgers, breakfasts, that sort of thing - the village up the road has a chip shop.

At our outdoor venue at Gonerby - on a Tuesday evening we often get a Pizza delivery early on, but as Grantham is only two miles up the road, food of all nations are available. There is a Burger king across the road at the services on the A1.
