container or new structure doesn't matter....I think this needs to be either done first or costed accurately before we started spending a fortune on new track marking. Afterall doesn't matter how good the track is if you can't see the damn thing
if we charge a membership fee for the use of the track u only need about 20 people that will pay for the hose.we could pay now and start the years membership from may, then you have the rest of the money to do up the rostrum and fence ect
membership runs from Jan to Dec in line with BRCA subs. So technically this years subs are now overdue!!
I haven't really pushed people for the subs due to the uncertaintly of the racing venues. Now we are progresssing then I think everybody will start to cough up. Afterall you only get back what you put in and all that...
I think we must start on the Track as soon as possible. Weather is always a problem but the forecast for the weekend is dry. Plus it should be a long weekend for most people, so we should be able to achieve a fair bit. You can do ground work, build earth up for jumps etc. We can lay pipe afterwards if necessary. You can race without a Rostrum but you cant race without a track.
Exactly Chaz, I'm not saying we shouldn't start on the track building, but we must spend the money on the rostrum first and then sort out the track marking.
Membership is only £35.00 for the whole year including your BRCA subs. A lot of people have already paid so it would be very unfair to do a discount for May to December.
You are going to struggle to get people to pay and turn up and graft....!!!! with no racing...!!! You regulars may...but no newbie is going to pay....graft and not race...
Good luck...I have been following the thread..and will help when I can...
The majority of the regulars have had use of the Arena for sometime and never paid more than their fiver a week - a years subs won't break their bank - but goes a long way to get the track they want.....
I am in agreement with rostrum first and making the track super visible later - with the red pipe that has appeared and some of the old blue stuff we can get racing around a track - without the rostrum most of us won't see the furthest reaches of the layout regardless of what colour or size the piping is.
