Great to hear of the progress that you have made - don't forget that Steve has arranged for use of Newark Showground for the next couple of weeks, if it is your intention to have another works party rather than race, then let Steve know please. Decide as soon as possible and then we can get organised and cancel Newark if that is the majority choice.
The rostrum on top of the container idea is good BUT, we will have to deck the top to make it stronger and non-slip. There has to be a substantial rail and toeboards all round - using the container as the base of the rostrum makes both items more secure in both the safety and vandalism/theft aspect - the amount of materials and cost would escalate if we were to build an extra free standing rostrum. Wouldn't construction of a freestanding unit also require more in the way of ground work to ensure it's stability? |

Racing at Newark starts on the 10th April for I think four weeks. So we can meet and Gonerby this week and progress the track further, then race at Newark next week. |

I dont think there is a height restriction as ive been to few tracks where you would get a nose bleed they are so high(stonehaven in scotland must be 40feet in the air),Track coming on good i will try to get down on tuesday night.....by the way didnt the club have a load of hose you used to use it at the dirty duck when we raced there.... |

I have spoken to a supplier of hose in Doncaster and he said that they can only get 6" hose in blue or black, that is for the same stuff we used to use at the duck. However he recomended against using pvc hose as in sun light it will become very brittle and break easy? He recomended a polyurathane hose which they can supply in yellow on a 25m drum for about £1.50 a mtr but its only availadle in 4" |

Hi Ian
I think 4" wil be fine especially in yellow. We must use Polyurathane as the PVC stuff goes brittle very quckly and just doesn't last with the amount of hammer it gets from the cars.
Does anybody know how much we need?

We worked out that it would be about 500m. I that is what we are going to go with then give me a call, once it is paid for i will do my best to go and collect it before the weekend! Unless any body else has a vehicle which it will go in? I will need to call them back in the morning to check the price. I explained what it was for and he said he would do us a deal. |

You will need something quite big to pick it all up as there will be 20 drums of the stuff ,did they say how big a drum was???? |

hang fire on ordering anything for the mo....that will put a massive dent in the budget.
we need to sort the rostum out first, as without the rostrum the track is useless and I have a feeling that this will require quite a lot of money to make something half decent and safe.
If we can move the sand filled hosing from outside my office tommorrow night then that will be a start.
does anybody have access to a measure wheel so we can be precise with the amount we need? |

No. They didnt say. May have to do a few trips! I can use my work truck, it has a 4m long bed and a trailer but it will never go in one load. |
