Will give you a call in morning scooby. Have to go to work to collect trailer at about 9am so will call you when i am set to leave! My number is 07800921819
apparently i've heard that a few people was down there today and are looking at going again tues nice to let us know these things...i did ask if anything was going to be done apart from rolling if so could they let us know but there seems to be lack of communication
I was at Gonerby Moor on the 27th but missed April 1st, Is there going to be anyone there on Tues as suggested and what about the upcoming Easter bank holiday, I would be up for some work on the track.
Yes, some of us were down at gonnerby today, we got the track designed with lap times of approx 40 seconds which will be about 55 seconds with jumps etc. The track has been laid out with rope and rolled giving a good racing surface to start us off. I think that a few people are talking of going down on Tuesday evening just for a bit of a play, the track will soon become more defined when it has been ran on more. The ground looks good, no stones etc and should be a great surface as long as it is dry. May get a little sloppy when it gets wet! We should be able to get on site for about 5ish? if anybody wants to they can take a shovel and start building ramps? speek to Ben for details but i think we are now waiting for 500 metres of 6" yellow hose and a huge stack of scaffolding to build a rostrum. Anybody got any ideas?
you can go down on tuesday but i feel that the track is not worth going round as there is not a good definition of the track untill we get the hose... If you d want to go down on tuesday i would suggest bringing a shovl so we could start on getting some jumps. Honestly it is not worth racing as the markings are metal posts and blue string and are very difficult to see ... And very easy to hit.. Let me know if you still want to go down.
PS please can everybody get thinking caps on for 6"hose because when we have got that we would be able to start racing.
My sugestion for Tuesday would be a meeting at the track to actually put a plan in place and work out what materials/plant we need to purchase/blag to get the venue usable in time for when we finish racing at Newark when the nights start to draw out.
And yes I have some Astroturf promised so I will try and get this sorted.
Is the container strong enough to use as a rostrum or are we looking at building a completely new structure?
The container may be usable for a rostrum but my opinion is that it would take the same amount of materials and work to make it structuraly sound as it would to male a new free standing rostrum? purpose built! I am not a structural engineer so we could all look at this on tuesday evening and throw some ideas and opinions around.
