Seems I was pre-empted over posting about our new track.
Was it 14 people ? - if so well done chaps. At least 14 of us know how big an acre of land is - and we even marked it out - twice! (thanks Ben)(4840 square yards, 69.57 yds each side or 63. something in metres) we've laid out two lines for car parking with enough space for reversing in and out of. The orange netting is pegged out to seperate parking from track and the track (supposedly a fast layout) marked out with peg and strings. the track is the BRCA required 4 metres wide - and some of the younger (smart ar5e) drivers present wanted to put a chicane at the furthest point from the rostrum (that idea was quashed immediately - do you know how hard it is for some of the senior members to see that far?). It's currently marked out, but as the others have said. it requires 'grading' and rolling - and obviously the vertical bits will come later - the jumps and table tops etc..
We struck lucky with the weather - it was bone dry, hopefully this will be the start of the luck we had when we raced at the pub - the sun always shone at some point during the racing session and as far as I can remember - it was always dry-ish. Let's hope we are equally blessed at our new venue.
Paul (scooby)was unfortunate to be 'attacked' by Ben's dog Madonna Beyonce (he says his new step daughter chose the name - yeah we believe you)..... once by a head butt in the family jewels - and then by Ian, who crept under the truck and 'bit ' his leg - laugh ? we nearly wet ourselves.
All of the track laying stuff that was at Arena has now been brought over to the new track and is stored in the container, along with some more piping that was acquired from a skip...one man's waste is our gain.
The attendees worked well on all of our behalf - and even had time for a bit of a laugh - Thanks Men.

Hi everybody, i don't usually get time to sit at my pc for a chat but thought i should come and see what its all about. I thought it was a very good turnout lastnight and everybody showed great enthusiasm for the task ahead. Also just a quick appology to Paul for the practical joke, i am sure i will pay for that! |
