Hello yourself,
Looks like we're the first, seems hollow sounding in here doesn't it? It'll change when a few more join..
Had a bad time of it tonight, took the newly run-in TNX down, had a little practice before the first heat, nothing too serious, stripped the plastic gear on the 'slippr clutch'. missed the first and second race... Tamiya supply a spare in the box - strip new truck (engine out etc.,)fit new gear, rebuild and set clutch a bit lighter - test just before final race of the evening - seems pretty good, race starts, still not pushing too hard, running in and all that.
Fifth lap, new gear stripped......replacements £17 for a pair, look on Steve's smiling fizzog - priceless! Hope this is not a glimpse of the future - first race of the new year... |

To be fair, it could just be the initial running in that was overlooked. I did all the good bits with the engine, but never read the manual past that bit, nor did I check that anything was out of place or not fitted/adjusted correctly. When I stripped the first gear I started running with the slipper loose, then doing a couple of laps, adjust and so on(this was because I didn't have the book with me).
Upon fitting the second new gear whilst at home - I read the book.... fit gear, tighten slipper as much as possible then back off 1/4 turn - as yet I haven't run it but will over the weekend and report back. |

Evenin' All,
Looks like the numbers are increasing, don't forget to get there early - latecomers get the stalls with the steaming brown stuff... |

Reg,
I notice that you've given your location as Zimbabwe, do you not think that will put you at a disadvantage? It's quite a way to travel for a night's racing - and the jet lag and all that.......
Mind you, a couple of cups of the steaming bro......speak to MrBig on how good that is
So what are you going to be racing? we like to know what we're up against... |
