As the topic title suggests, there have been problems with members hearing announcements of heats, and countdowns etc., during race nights.
Rather than have a 'louder than the nitro engine' p.a. system at huge expense, not to mention that someone has to be responsible for it, transport it and so on. It has been found that by the addition of a small low power F.M. transmitter to the timing computer it has been possible to broadcst announcements etc. to a suitable radio.
If the members get themselves a radio to have near their pitting area, or carry a walkman type radio with earphone you can keep abreast of the proceedings. Be even better in the summer when we're outside - just tune your car radio to the right frequency.....
I notice that Steve had a stock of suitable self scan F.M. radios for only £2.00 contact him via Access Models |
