As all of our regular club racers know, our rack of AMB 20 transponders are starting to show their age and not holding charge particularly well.

I would like to know who is interesting in a club led bulk buy of the new Harry transpoders. The discount isn't huge but discount is still discount

Please add your name to this thread so I can guage interest.

Many thanks

Chris

It's the new name for the personal transponders made by AMB (now Mylaps) that used to be called PT's (pete's)

When you look through that lot, maybe a few of you will realise how much it costs to set up a club with the equipment many take for granted...and the on-going maintainence of the equipment is not cheap either.

Really ought to sell one of the two I've got....but maybe I should get a B44 like everyone else.

Chris,

I am sure you've looked into it deeply but have you tried MRT (Model Racing Technology). I changed from AMB to these. They are very helpful and were cheaper plus they do clones at a very resonable price so for those who run more than one car it saves haveing to change the unit each time.

Just a thought.

After talking to Chris last night about these it seems they are no good unless you already have an AMB pt. They only supply blank pt's with no number programed so you have to send them your old transponder so the number can be programed in to it! Ian

If you buy one that is off the shelf and new they are programmable so you can either choose a new number or programme it the same as an existing unit.

Chris, i phoned mrt this morning about the ptx transponders they said they come with 20 preset numbers + 1 random number from the database which has 10 million combinations he said they can't call them unique numbers because there is a 1 in10 million chance of getting the same number as someone else lol
They are £44.50 each or 5% discount for 5 or 10% discount for 10 hope this helps steve.

Nice one thanks Steve, that's good news, £44.50 each is far better than the AMB Harry's at £72.00.

The only thing i would say is that the Harry's will provide more information to the updated AMB RC4 timing system when it is upgraded.

I don't think it will really matter to be honest as all we want counting is our laps.

Add my name to the list of interested parties in buying a PT with discount, sounds like a plan
