Just a quick question guys, does a brushless motor need a break in period?

shouldnt do, only thing to do is keep an eye on motor temperatures in relation to gearing (more pinion size than spur tbh) bigger pinion means hotter temperature due to motor working harder, so if gets hot reduce pinion size until your happy with a balance between performance and not stressing the motor,

other than that brushless motors are supposedly "maintenance free", but it is still good practice to give it a good visual check and oil the bearings every couple of weeks, due to the speeds the motor runs at the bearings do take some punishment,

any problems come find me track side, i run the yellow and green 4wd short course truck

its a lrp sxx version 2 tc spec speedo, and a novak ballistic 4.5t 550 size motor (brushless)

its still accelerating by the time its into the first corner of the track its that fast,

if all bought new, the truck with no electrics between 200-250 (depending on shop), speedo about 200, motor around 100,

i bought all but the speedo second hand, paid 120 for the truck, 40 for the motor,

worth every penny, got my eye on some national A finals next year with it
