use a smaller pinion will, this will make the motor work easier thus create less heat, as long as you can touch the motor for a fair fewseconds it should be fine temperature wise |

Heat sinks with fan mountings are available that can help cool your motor - extruded and machined alloy fittings in fancy colours and a fan.
Alternatively take note of Dave's advice and use a smaller pinion....sometimes pure top speed is not always the way. |

i have looked at heat sinks and fans but none fit as the bumper brace covers the motor and i dont have a smaller pinion, its not getting too hot touch, i would just like to keep it running cool |

do you know what pinion you are using at the minute?, i have a bit of a variety, i used to use a 13.5t motor in my blitz with a 28tooth pinion the motor was very very hot but it drove great fast enough to keep up with quick motors but calm and stable out of corners!, as long as you can touch/hold your finger on the motor casing for a while then it should be fine, as long as there not red hot should be ok, and even then as long as you keep it decently maintained then should not have a problem, brushless motors only have one moving part (the rotor) which is supported on bearings at each end, as long as you keep an eye on and lubricate these bearings you should be fine,
some motors just run hot naturally (LRP especially) and if you had it hot after running it at full speed up and down a road then its different to round the track where its only 60odd% full throttle and not stressing the motor as much, give it a run on tuesday for 5mins then let one of us have a look/feel and we can give you some help/advice, |

I'm using a 18 tooth pinion with a 88 tooth spur, how do I lubricate the bearings because the can is sealed? |

18 pinion should (if anything) be a bit on the small side. Il have a look for you tomorrow will and see what's happening with it |
