Loop shouldnt be an issue, would need to have a look in the decoder hand book though. I does say something in there about loop lengths and distances etc.. Will have a look on Sunday.

Agree about keeping existing location.
Maybe we should only do limited work next year to repair & "tart" it up a bit, new pit ramp etc, with a view to complete re-vamp similar to 1/10 track the following year.
This would give members a bit of a rest after this year & would give time to amass a bit of money, possibly source astro & plan in detail the new layout. Would then be able get suitable plant/contractors in to sort out major work, & be able to purchase all required materials to complete the job as quickly & efficiently as possible. |

The loop won't be an issue. we will just need to buy a new one so the "black Box" can live in the ground. It will just be a case of installing the coax properly and deep enough to stop miss counts as drivers walk over it. |

I agree with Steve (Donk) on this one. Lets leave it for this a year and just tart it up and change the layout. It would be nice to get some dosh in the bank and do a propper job of it next year. |

Me three. Use what money we have to get all the rent paid up for the coming year, save as much as we can and do a proper job next year with plant to make life easier for the volunteers. |

Make that four......BUT..... Are we all saying that because we have all moved over to electric and aren't bothered about the nitro side of things any longer?
It is my intention to go back to nitro for the outdoor season and I hope others will too, if not the nitro boys may think they've become the poor relation and have been forgotten. |

Me too. I came back to nitro for a couple of rounds last year and loved it. I intend on alternating between rallyx and short course. I think it comes down to the same people again who helped with the last 1/8 build and the 1/10 build. It would be nice to have a year of just racing without having to build a complete new track again. Lets just have a break! We were lucky last year to have the dedication of Mark to spend days on end down there working away else the build would have taken alot longer. Perhaps leaving it for a year we might get more volunteers? |

With the clocks changing this weekend I assume that it wont be long before racing goes back outdoors again. Any ideas when this might be? |

As you've not attended recently, the 'news on the street' is that we're outdoors as of April 10th...
There must be some discussion soon regarding our intention with the 1/8th track - the base outline is there, a little work and modification will allow us to complete a circuit without encroaching on the 1/10th section at all. That is just my opinion of course - any other ideas are welcome, but the sooner we're racing - the sooner we're earning and possibly building a bigger fund for a massive track re-think next year. |

Track will be built/tidied next week and generator repaired/bodged so it'll all be ready by next weekend.
The main problem is with the last Arena X meeting not until mid April, can't see Arena UK being too impressed about losing rent if we went outdoors a couple of weeks before then, or can't expect them to accept leaving the indoor track set up rent free either.
The lighting needs transferring and erecting outdoors as it will be needed for a few weeks until the light lasts longer.
There is going to have to be a work party to dismantle/transport the indoor track over to storage or it'll have to be a case of missing a weeks racing whilst the work is done on a Tuesday.
So dunno Tom, the powers that be need to make an executive decision and quickly so it can be promoted so everyone is aware.
on another note... are you racing at Carnage tomorrow Tom? you've been a stranger for a bit?! |

Ive said in another thread the reasons I havent been down recently, but Im looking forward to racing outdoors again! |

Mark. If it helps I can come pick the gennerator up and repair it at work. I have some spares laying about or if I need to order any parts I can get them very cheap! Will give it a full service and I have a load bank to check the output. Will talk to you in the morning.

I am happy to help as and when I can. This weekend is out the question but next weekend is Easter so that gives 4 days. I'm happy to move the lighting, are all the power leads still there? If someone else moves the fittings then be careful with the lamps as they are the expensive & delicate bit. |
