Having had recent problems with my TNX, I have managed to spend time and stripped the fuel pipes and pressure pipes from the truck. I've also removed completely, the priming pump that comes as standard with the Tamiya nitro range of vehicles. This latter operation was obviously the most difficult bit - what I have noticed now it's removed - is the lack of pressure required to move fuel through the pipes. I am assuming that the pump was jamming/sticking hence it's breakage early on, and the resultant 'blockage' it was causing.

If this was the case, wouldn't it show up as the engine leaning out before dying rather than going slower and slower as if bogging down from too much fuel then dying as it has been?

hi there,if im understanding you right you have removed the pump and it still happens,i failed english so all those fancy words are a bit confusing,
if that is the case, try changing your glow plug,if that doesnt work it could be you cluch springs are pooped, they are letting the cluch on to early and the engine is bogging down(its like you pulling off in 5 in your big car)the nito engine needs to be at a high rpm before the cluch comes on,
mark

there is a a truggy having the same sort of probs on another website with bubbles in the fuel line.Heres what they said

you are getting to much oil and fuel in your pipe when your running so it has to be running to rich. also you say that the revs pick up when the pressure pipes are blocked this is also a sign that the engine is running to rich. you are more than likely to rich on the lsn. if you start leaning out the lsn you will probably notice an increase in idle just adjust the idle screw down a bit to compesate. once you have set the lsn you may need to richen up the hsn a little to compensate the mid range. the only reason i say this is because you have stated that at the moment it is running fine and by leaning the lsn it will have a small affect on the hsn at mid range.

running it a bit rich and a fast idle will not cause the car to run particularly bad. but it will throw quite a bit of oil and fuel into your exhaust.when the car turns over this will run into the pressure pipe and block it. this will cause the fuel to take a bit of extra time to get to the carb. also because the engine is running rich and has a high idle it will use more fuel and therefore use what is in the pipes very quickly.
start leaning out the lsn adjust the idle back down to a reasonable tickover and your problem will be solved.
when the lsn is running sweet youll be suprised how long the car will idle upside down. and if the pressure pipe is not getting blocked it will force the fuel back to the carb very quickly once the car is back on its wheels

might be a good idea to clean out the pipe once you have it set up well

Don't know if that will help Grasshopper but they tried everything

It might have no resemblance to your problems at all but anything is worth a try

Thanks for the response - Pat seems to have sorted it - always helps to have someone who knows what they're doing.
Yes, the clever 5od drove it better as well - but at least I've got a better hairstyle....in fact I've actually got hair

Would I really notice the difference ?

Mind you, some say that with your alcohol intake your bodily waste might make my buggy might run better. Is it true that one of your nick names, due to your passsion for TopGear and booze is 'Swig'?
