If you were at the track on Thursday I said that Tamiya have ReReleased te Lunchbox/Wild Willy chassis with a VW Campervan, and that they raced them in Japan.
Here's the proof, with the Wheelie Straight!

did suggest that a Tamiya shed class was a good idea... pretty much everyone i spoke about it with though it would be a laugh.
any old Tamiya off-road car/buggy/truck running the £7 brushed Ansmann motors, everything such as tyres have to be Tamiya, of period and relate to the vehicle
only rule is it must be an old shed and bodging to keep it going or home made chassis tuning allowed
You can get proper bargain less than £20 Grasshoppers, Manta Rays etc etc secondhand off ebay, would be a riot.
Maybe the car must have reverse rule so that marshals could have a break which would allow marshal numbers for other heats to be boosted.
Do it! Video it and get it around the net to show what a laugh can be had at A1 Racing Club! |

Slowing down for the corners to stop the car turning turtle, how novel is that idea? :) |

I dont see why a re-release would be a problem... although the whole point is to have a cheap class as a laugh, like we did with £40 Tamiya beetles many moons agoat the old Grantham club.
Don't go spending money on anything until enough people show proper interest and decide its definitely happening, or it will be a waste.
At the minute 2WD stadium trucks should be encouraged on the racing side and since an Ansmann Macnum can be picked up new for £50ish then its a cheap starter class or racing,
Shed class should be purely for a lot of laughs and to see what Tamiya junk people have hidden in their lofts!
mechanical servo sounds interesting, how does that work then? |

And another sensible rule to keep it fun...
The shed class car must be run as a second car on a club meeting, at say £2 for class entry
that way it boosts club funds and doesn't effect other race class numbers and stops the ship jumping that happens too often. |

do you mean mechanical speedo will, the old tmaiya sweeping arm potentiometer jobs?, they were good until it got stuck on full chat (usually toward a wall/curb/other immovable object)that were connected to a servo. technically all servos are mechanical due to the use of motors and gears. |
