Have you already got a track design in mind or is it going to be designed as it is laid? Last time we made it up as we went along and it turned out great. |

Is Friday a definate date then?? (ish)
If you need 230volt power for any tools let me know and I'll stick my 2kw generator in the boot. I don't want to just bring it for the sake of it as it'll make the car smell of petrol, but will bring it if it will be of help and will be used. |

Further to your queries, Yes, Friday is ON, the majority will be there for 9 - 9:30 am., the rest of the astro needs sorting out and re-rolling ready for laying after the surface has been rolled.
Some of the big lumps of concrete (old kerbstones) need levering out and the resultant holes refilling - otherwise you'll end up with serious chassis knackerers under the astro. If we tip them into the dip where the sump was (that the telehandler sunk into), when I get there I'll compact them with my truck!
Coupe, I don't think that your gennie will be required thanks. Ian, the track has been designed - it's a modification of the old design and is definitely longer. |

slight change of plan with the roller. I am trying to sort a JCB first to build the jumps. Then when all work with the big machinery is complete we can then fill any holes and finish the surface with the roller. |

MORNING ALL,
The weather here is currently slightly cloudy with a blue sky peeking through, looking here: http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/today.asp?zipcode=NG32%202AB the forecast seems to be good - So let's get to it, but to be on the safe side bring wet weather gear, those of you with low ground clearance cars might be better served parking on the road (the old A1 sliproad before the second gate into the field and walking in...
Due to other commitments I won't be there till around 9.30. |

Vicky, myself and dogs had a cracking day.
Shame we picked up a piece of steel wire in our front tyre and had to change it to a poxy space saver wheel. The journey home at the heady speed of 50MPH on the A1 was absolute torture!
Look forward to putting the astro-turf down and forming the track now. |

Very many thanks lady and gentlemen, another productive day. Astro cleared ready for jumps and final topping off and rolling ready to lay track proper. Special mention for Steve Jenkinson's engineering skills - the modification to the astro clamp by the addition of a hook and pole - brilliant! made manual pulling of astro a relative breeze!.
Things are progressing well - a lot of the 'unsuitable' astro has been laid in the pitting area, we have numerous rolls of prepared astro stacked ready to lay - the big lumps of stuff have been dug out, the ones that are left wil be on the infield and one was ready marked as a marshall point!
Keep an eye on here for the next gripping installment, thanks again people. |
