Sorry I could not help today. It was great to see the club members pulling together with huge enthusiasm, It reminded me of the early days, its the members that make the club what it is. Well done to all of you. Hope to be able to get involved again soon.

Good days work today, got a bit sun burnt on my "bald bonce" though,(hows yours Del?).
Regarding the track, there is still quite a bit of astro on the track that needs de-sanding, cutting & moving before we can get the roller on all of it. We could possibly do both at the same time if we have enough people, one could be rolling it while the others deal with clearing the astro(would need Phil & his truck). Could this be done this Friday?. Myself & young Phil are available Friday only.

After the clearing & rolling has been done, the next job is to build the jumps, so we would need a JCB type machine to erect these before we can do too much more, however after this has been done the "fine tuning" of jumps/track can be done manually.

Finally astro & tubing can then be laid & let the racing commence

Just like to add my thanks to those that turned out yesterday.

It was certainly a good start, there was obviously a LOT of Astro that needed sorting and still a lot more to do. It seems that the way it was ripped up will lead to there being a lot of damaged astro that won't be laid for track surface but may be the basis of some of the jumps - so it'll not be a total loss.

Towards the end of the day, as we were getting more 'knackered' we got into a system which I think worked quite well, reducing the amount of physical exertion - none of it being possible without that clamp that Steve Jenkinson (Donk) made - for a 'knock-up' job it was a Godsend - even without the truck it would have been easier to haul astro using that and some rope.
(personally I think a patent would be difficult, but you ought to make a few more to sell to other clubs )

If the weather holds off - then Friday seems to be one that most are available for....comments please?
