I presume that by 'this Sunday' you mean Sunday 19th or the following Saturday the 25th.?
I'm free for either day, it all depends on numbers and the weather - all those with a preference and the time, please make yourselves known.... |

All on for Sunday? Have got tipper organised but wont be dropping the first load until about 10.30 due to it being a Sunday morning, I dont want to upset the neighbours! 1st load may have some turf and crap in it but as soon as we get below that it should be good. |

More contact with Ian, the topsoil delivery driver is willing to tip where we want, depending on conditions 'under-tyre'.The first drop will be around 10 am ish.
If we can shift some of the hardcore to the jump positions in time, then the topsoil can be tipped on top ready for shaping, obviously for this to happen we need to have on site the track designers, plans in hand to have it all marked out accordingly and volunteers willing to shovel and barrow, so if you're free.... Once we start building jumps, that's the way it stays - so if you want any input, please be there or don't complain later.

Started excavating last night. Looks like it is very good soil with very little clay and the ocasional brick! The main problem is that we can only have tre tipper for Sunday so to get all the soil moved is gonna need a speedy turn around. If any body wants a burger or sausage later on give me a shout, will have BBQ on the go. |

Weather report looks good for tomorrow - bright and sunny, make sure if you're coming down to bring fluid to drink and those with less scalp toppings than me ought to bring a hat! (Del....!)
Plan of action should be to get the jumps marked and hardcore laid ready for Ian's supply of topsoil. Tom, Steve and Phil know where they're supposed to be and how high so they should take lead....I'm coming down a bit later (10:30 ish) so if there's anything we need ring me and I can fetch before I get there.
Other job suggested was to lift the pit lane ramp forward to allow more space between rostrum and pit lane - the distance being gauged by putting the back legs onto the front pads and moving the pads from the back, this will give us another couple of feet for the more 'portly' pitman. |

sounds like a plan. Not sure what time I will be down if at all. Still got loads of stuff to do at home after a manic week at work.
Anyway just a thought when it comes to track length and jump placement, I think it will be worth marking the track to not include the extra raised area that the dozer driver added by race control.
I just think that that extra ten meters of track area is too big a sacrifice for one row of parking, I know at the moment it useless as parking but in time it will need harcore on.
Just my thoughts.... Hope to see you all tomorrow at some point. |

Unless we hardcore it (and up to it) soon the first heavy rain will render it unaccessible, no-one would be able to get to or up on to that raised end. For the amount of times we need extra car parking - I think we'd be better off with more race track.
If we were to be blessed with big meets we could compromise by possibly getting people into unload and then park their cars up on the road or coming to some arrangement with our neighbour. If this summer's like last year, that end will be mostly a quagmire at that end and neither use nor ornament, at least now it's raised we may as well use it and race on it - there are no jumps planned for that end bit so we can shorten the track if need be in the future - or even leave it un-astroed as part of our multi surface track idea.
And following the last 'big event' we had, that just needed car park marshalls to sort them out - some people just abandoned rather than parking sensibly. |
