Reg Feeling much better now thanks. Still flying, mostly planes now. Got fed up with hellicopters! Not had any time to get to club flying field at Welbourn to do any serious flying so have been flying the trusty modified Stryker C at the local playing field, its small but still good for about 90mph. When you are all ready for some arial pics let me know and i will bring a plane along.

Can you two keep the personal chit-chat for another thread.....I don't know, you boys!!
This Saturday 16th, we need to pull out the stops and get some more work done - anybody that's free and willing to lend a hand would be more than welcome - the jumps need covering with the sand/cement mix and then the astro putting on and then a concerted effort to lay as much of the astro on the highest wear parts next, any remaining astro on the straights. the pit ramp wants fixing down - and the on/off ramp then merging into the track.
A consensus of opinion please - do we paint the shuttering on the ends of the jumps or do we cover in gash astro before we put the yellow boundary piping on? personally I feel astro would look best and be softer if you hit it - any preference? majority rules...vote now!
Just remember that we are outdoors as of the first week in June - no more Laughton so the track needs sorting ASAP please. |

Definately think astro on shuttering would look better, looks a bit like a pallet graveyard at moment . Me & Phil will be down Saturday.
Do we need a wacker plate? |

Yes to the wacker plate Steve.
Don't forget the shuttering is going to be cut to match the profile of the jump. Regardless of what we decide may I suggest we don't use any of the astro until all the track is down, as I think we are going to need pretty much all of it, even the stuff on the car park! |

I will be able to come down after work about 12.00, but will have to go about 4.30 im afraid:-( Regarding the shuttering. I think it would look nicer covered with astro.

I can't make this weekend and unless Joe bikes I don't think he will either. Other family commitments. |

We'd best get a wacker plate then, Jewson's do rental for the weekend for around 40 quid....went down to drop off a few more pallets this evening. There's a load of usable astro by the container we've yet to inspect - we might need to haul that out and have a look... |

Hi Phil, A plate compactor will cost only £20 for a weekend or i have a small walk behind viberating roller for about £30 (all+VAT). Or if either yourself or Chris come collect it i am sure that if all you want is a wacker plate i can do something for you! wink wink!!!! Give me a call. Ian |

I think we'll manage with the whacker plate - at least we can transport it to and from more easily than a roller - all we need to do is some of the 'finer details'. |

Chris, if you mean the Padgett's - they're away with their other hobby - STEAM!!
If you mean our Mr Holt, rang and left him a message re: Whacker plate and no response to date.
The other thing about the weekend work day - there might be no shortage where water's concerned....not looking good weather-wise http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/dayforecast.asp?zipcode=NG32%202AB&day=2
We may have to work through it....we are at a critical point - All hands on deck... |

light rain and showers, just what we need to set jumps hard!
We are going ot need plenty of muscle to lay the astro, do we know how many are coming down? |
