Hi Chris, It's unlikely I will be able to get down this weekend but will try but Phil is picking up a wacker plate on Saturday morning.

I've already bought and delivered 5 bags of cement, as well as an extra load of pallets - if anyone thinks we need more of anything, say so please. As Ian has stated, whacker plate booked for weekend.

Remember food and fluids for personal consumption would be advisable - although the chips from the shop in Long Bennington smelt a LOT better than the sandwiches I brought....

Good day, not much muscle but we got a lot done. astro is now on banked corner and following jumps.

Half the straight is now covered aswell. All the jumps, banked corners and table tops have been wackered and profiled properly, and where the astro has been laid the jumps have been treated with a sand/cement mix to harden them up.

The pit lane exit has been put in with shuttering on the edge of the track.

As I left just after 3pm the first lengths of hosing was going down.

I only have some pictures of early on, I'm not sure if anybody took any when they finished.

The weather let us down later on, some of the hosing was pinned down in an effort to stop the wind blowing the astro away!
We managed to cement some of the triple in the centre of the track and astro it. But as been said, the jumps are profiled ready for covering.

We had limited man-power today but each and every one worked hard - just wish I had my camera when Chris found the only deep, water-filled hole in the whole track area ( the one where we removed that big rock - now filled)

All the jumps have been 'tested' with a buggy - young Phil J. tried them and they were pronounced 'leapable' and Ryan Birkett agreed, seeing as he's now a veteran of other tracks, they must be O.K.

It's certainly coming on - but progress is not as fast as all of us would like, the availability of willing labour being a little scarce. The days where most of us could dedicate both days of a weekend to a hobby are now gone and a few of the stalwarts of the club have new family members - and some of we older ones have partners that demand our attention. Hopefully though we will be able to run later into the year as despite the recent rain through the week there was no standing water (except where Chris found!). The addition of a bigger generator and floodlighting will allow us to enjoy the Autumnal weather even though the nights draw in.

Latest pics from Saturdays work.

I went down Sunday afternoon after the heavy rain to take these and as you can see there is still no standing water on the track.

Frighteningly, these pictures show how much MORE there is left to lay.....having said that, most of it now is all the flat bits

It does look pretty good though, can't wait to race it!

I hope there's a few of you that are available next week to carry on the good work, I'm sorry but I'm not around - I have to work over the weekend then I'm away for a bit.
