Just a quick note to let everyone know there will be a track work party this Saturday the 23rd April.

Rostrum building and astro laying.

Cheers

Now that the 1/10th track is complete - and looking stunning! - our existing 1/8th track is in serious need of repair, maintenance and general titivation.

As I have a free day on Saturday (14th May) it is my intention to go down and make a start, weather permitting. Please feel free and welcome to lend a hand.
Most of the tools and materials are already on site - but if you have any suitable equipment please bring it along.

Some of the big jobs:
Refilling the banking at the end of the main straight and pinning the astro.
Sorting the table top at the far left corner and repairing the safety fencing.
The rostrum could do with a 'once over' to ensure all clamps are tight - checking that the flooring is safe and rot free.
The pit lane needs dismantling and replacing completely.

There are a myriad of other jobs that anyone can lend a hand to - irrespective of gender, age, creed or disability. So please don't feel left out - come on down. Any queries you can ring me on 0771 287 3735

Steve and Phil Jenkins and I went down the track today fow a few hours, we got loads done. We have filled about 8 more hose ranging from about 4m to 8m long. With a couple of teams on the go it will take no time to fill the rest so can we contact every one we can for a big push on Tuesday evening to get it done.

The weather is not looking that bad for tomorrow evening, there are loads of little jobs to be done so if any one still wants to get out of the house for a few hours then please still come down. The new 1/8th pit ramp needs instaling for starters, I will pop down this morning and have a measure up of the whole site and try to get some sort of list made for jobs to be completed. I will post it on here later today.

I'm up for an evening out of the house!

What is the car park like at the moment - more precisely the entrance way which will take the most abuse by all the vehicles chewing it up?

To be honest it is all ok. The track is useable and about 70% of the car park is ok too! The entrance way is good too.
Looks like the chap I know who can do the weed spraying has let me down so I will see if I can get the chemicals, do we have a back pach sprayer so we can do it our self?
I have measured the whole site so I will roughly draw it up so future plans can be discussed.

This is a rough but close enough site plan, I have measured both existing 1/8th area and proposed 1/8th area to show what could be fitted in. The rostrum plan would be to put the 1/8th rostrum on the end of the 1/10th rostrum with race control underneath having a window on both sides.
I dont mean to steel this thread but thought it would make sense to get peoples thoughts.
