I found it a bit rushed as wanted to help the newbies.

However we need to stick to that timing or we will get nowt done.

Agree on the timing thing, booking in could be done in advance by text /email and the racing start at a earlier time and the machine left to run, the time between heats could be shortened if need be, to get the racing in before dark.

The newbie help situation will pass, so many new ones all at once.....that's the beauty of club nights though, a chance for a bit of fun and help for the beginners.

I feel a little aggreived Tom, that you have to go on the defensive because you've problems with your model car...as if I would be so cruel to comment on your purchase of a Losi. Mind you, in chinese Lo-si breaks down into two parts 'Lo' meaning head or leader or everything as a whole, dependent on context or intonation. 'Si' is chinese for faeces ( or more commonly to crap) but the americans weren't to know that when they thought of the brand name...but 'everything's crap' is a bit unfortunate.

that's the spirit Tom - what's in a name....as long as it does what you want it to do.

Tuesday 25th,

Try and make it as early as possible chaps - the nights are drawing in - if you know someone else who's going down before you let them know and they could possibly book you in....that'll speed things up a bit.

Many thanks to Grasshopper for showing me round tonight and answering all those newbie questions.

Nitro buggies look lots of fun, I'll be back soon.

Cheers,

Garry

Despite the lack of a reply 'shorty' were you the chap with the clear shelled truck/truggy? - welcome, you seemed to manage quite well against two of our more 'aggressive' club truggy drivers, Carl and Ian. Hope they inspire you to go faster.

Garry, no worries, if I could have managed to keep it running I was going to offer you a blatt (yes I did put 'blatt') round with my buggy. Maybe next time ?

Just remember if you're intending on making any form of purchase in the near future and need any help or advice, we are a friendly bunch - just ask, there are a few that will let you have a go to see which you might prefer, buggy or truggy.

Thank you Grasshopper much appreciated. I'm off to France next week but will be back up the track shortly after that. Ask you guys more questions about the different types of buggies/truggies before buying something to blatt round the track.

Is the track open at weekends to practise?

Reason I ask is that I have one sensitive neighbour (who doesn't these days) and even though he uses his sit-on-ride mower all the time, sometimes for hours - not kidding! I got complaints from him when I last had my Traxxas Revo. That's why I asked about brushless options. A nitro buggy/truggy for me would probably only be for use at the club/track, which is a shame when I have large garden and will need to leanr/practise.

Does the club normally run approx. 5 minutes heats and finals? Lipo batteries to cover those times aren't too expensive, its the much larger packs that have capacity to cover 20 mins that cost the earth.

Thanks,

Garry

As one of the formentioned "aggressive" drivers..... I only started racing last October after Phil let me have a go with his buggy, which never ran the same again.... Sorry. Last night was the first time I've beaten Ian in a straight race.

We do run 5 min heats, however we will be doing a winter series on one Sunday a month (dates TBA) and we will have 5 min heats and 20 min finals.

Once you are a club member you can use the track whenever you want.

Shorty....... good to meet you again!! Just checked our job records and we met at Empingham Road in June/July 2004.

As soon as I saw you I knew we'd met before but couldn't remember for the life of me. It was the silicone on your trousers that made me think you were a window fitter and that got the brain cells firing.

Have you got the bug again now?? I remember in 2004, you were really addicted to your RC cars. Will you be blowing the dust off your collection and be back next week??

well since 2004 iv got a house a wife and 2 kids so I'm gonna try and get out as much as possible but the Sunday idea might make things easyer
But your right back then i was into rc's big time,To the point i used to go max-bashing regularly which was a Sunday 5am start and get home around 9:30pm .i cant put that much effort in any more and need to get up to speed with all the new gear out plus get my brain around all the setting up again especially my tuning :)
i will try and come again next week
it was really nice to meet you all and the track is really nice as a diver i appreciate the effort you lot have put in
Thanks Shorty
