Tuesday 8th September - We're going back indoors.
As of next Tuesday, due to the dark nights, racing has been arranged for Laughton Manor 6:30 to 9:30.
John has graciously allowed us the use of the big arena again - the holding pen to pit in as before.
Don't forget to bring a table or 'workmate' to pit on.

The only thing is we will need to be more aware of leaving stuff behind like litter, broken parts etc.
Special attention MUST be paid to drainpipe/guttering that we use as track markers - when the shards break off they are a danger to the horses hooves and must be cleared up - failure to do so risks us losing the venue.
I suggest that we invest in a couple of rolls of 'Gaffer' tape and bind the ends up.

I assume its racing as normal at the A1 tonight? The light was ok until 8:15pm last night and assume there is enough time to get some racing done ........ as long as the genrator has oil in it tonight!!

Don't forget, there's the offer of lifts from the Grantham area if you've no transporet and want to race, ask on theis thread and we'll get something organised.

we've had a bit of a shower, if it rained on the track the conditions will be perfect. That little bit of water gives that a nice bit of slippage and helps prevent the grip roll.

The sun is shining and the sky is clear.....fantastic!

I assume that the tuesday night indoor track will not be a permanent fixture and will need relaying every week? If so do you/we need volunteers to assist setting up each week?

We normally just start setting up the track once there is 2 or 3 of us there (normally about 6:00), after that the more help the better, same with packing away afterwards.

We have the arena from 6.30-9.30 this year so I guess we shouldn't set up untill 6.30.

Basically, we use plastic guttering as track marking - the track is not as wide as outdoors, and the severity of the corners and track design is down to whoever turns up first to lay it!

Consideration has to be made for truggy drivers that can't get round tightish corners as easily as we skilled, more agile buggy drivers! (Ahh... I might be one of those soon.....)
