As you may have guessed the ST is still sat in it's box waiting to be built.

So before I make a start, does anybody have and suggestion asd to how to setup for the astro track? Diff oil, shock oil etc?

Cheers

Chris

I have to wait for my birthday - which is a week or so away, so not yet.....and then I'm off to the sun for a week, so it'll be at least Autumn before it gets built...

I would probably go for the 15 faster down the straights. But to be honest I wouldn't take my word for it, mine is still in the box!!

I'm sure somebody who knows better will be along shortly!

go for 14t clutch bell mate, good down the straights and after landing your jumps.

Depends on how long the straights are. Last thing you want is to run out of revs Chances are that the standard bell with the kit will be ok. Also, different ratios make the car handle differently over jumps and corner exit apparently, so i think its a case of experimenting and seeing what you like.

Nearly at the end of the build of my ST pro, put the wheels on and had a little play, as you do.
Now bearing in mind that the centre spider diff was pre-assembled and grease filled, shouldn't the front wheels rotate when the back are turned by hand. I've checked that the front disc is not binding. If you turn the clutch bell, everything rotates as it should.

opinions please.

Mines running 7,10,3 and if you spin the front wheels the back rotate as if mechanically joined....

I think you need to put oil in the middle spider rather than the grease. I changd mine a few weeks ago, it is the most fiddily job out.

I plumped for 10,7,3 front to back in the end.

Didn't have a problem with the spider diff, just roll a sheet of kitchen paper up and hold it round the other side of the diff casing as you fill it to stop the oil flowing out the screw holes.

So if yours was not pre-assembled, why was mine built ? - and am I silly assuming it has grease in it?
I think to be on the safe side I shall have to strip it and check- DAMMIT!

would recommend going heavier oil in the centre diff rather than going lighter than the front diff

as a rule of thumb you usually have the heaviest oil in the center, the lightest in the rear and something in the middle for the front
