Does any body use split rims on their short course truck? I have been looking around and can't decide if it is worth it as you need specific tyres to fit.
Also what about 17mm hex adaptors? There is a huge selection of buggy wheels and tyres available that could be used, are they any good or worth the expense?

I use split rims with Kourse King tyres - I had to do a bit of trimming of the inside of the side wall because they have 'strakes' which caused fitting problems. My reason was because I always had issues gluing tyres to rims!

A lot of clubs I think are NOT allowing adaptors and buggy wheels, insisting that SC rims and tyres are used to maintain the scale look. I think that A1racing were going to support that decision.

yup that's correct Phil, buggy wheels and tyres are not allowed to be used, we adopted this as have all the other clubs have that are big into SCT's. Same rule is also being used for the UK SC Nationals.

i believe so. If you look at your wheels and tyres the outside edge is a smaller diameter than the inside, just like the proline rims. I think in the photos of them they show them fitted with the 2.2 spacer on it, so it looks a bit different. You discard the outer spacer and are left with rims that are similar to the standard ones
