Think you were well overgeared with a 29 tooth pinion Dave... thats very high for 48DP gearing, with any motor.

I'm only up to a 22T pinion with a proper 6.5T in the Losi and the madrat was on a 21T using a 6.5T Fusion motor.

You have to let the brushless motors rev up to get them to work at higher winds, especially with a 2WD... with the low load on a madrat it probably wasn't getting very warm but you gear them to temperature... although i use trial and error with a few laps, can easily tell if its under or over... either spinning wheels or slugging about with no response.

It was probably very easy to drive though... i had to run 70g of weight on top of servo to keep the nose down on acceleration and it still wheelied on command!

We'll have to have a set up session together and get you all sorted out for the regional.. i seriously need the practice, although its getting better and learning tricks with the Losi set up... its starting to like our track surface and bumpy bits.

The tyres to go for on dry astro are dBoots Multibyte (A compound) on rear with schumacher medium inserts, wet astro its Ballistic Buggy Green Minispikes with hard inserts.

if dry its Schumacher yellow cut staggers with hard inserts on full width front wheel and if wet its schumacher yellow slim minispikes with hard inserts on full width front wheel!

sounds very anal but makes no end of difference to being able to get round track without spinning out!

I may be able to get you a base set up for the X2C from a guy at West Bridgeford tomorrow night, will try my best.

the 29 tooth was all that would make it keep up with others, temperature wise was not too bad but then was only runing on 20c lipos, got the x2c setup quite well, lrp saddles 5000mah at 50c constant! even with the 13.5t lrp motor on a 21 pinion it is very quick with speedo turned down, got a 6.5t lrp motor to put in just waiting to get my nosram speedo back then itll be fully setup, tyre wise got yellow mini spike, or yellow minipins for rear, with medium inserts, fronts are either minispikes minipins ribs or the tyres that came on the x2c,

got it set like you said with parrelel front arms and straight rear axles, just need to get it on the track and check properly,

definately need a decent practice session with it, best to put the short course away for a bit i think,

anybody else going in for the "oople invernational"?
