hi all, im new to the nitro sport and ive purchased a hyper 7 second hand, its been great for a while but now every time i jump it it stalls in midair, ive looked over it and cant find anything that looks out of place. the only thing i have noticed is the fuel tank cap seems to seal but with a little tap after its closed. if i dont jump it it will go fine.
one more thing ive just changed the glow plug before this started to happen, as the wire snapped in the old one, wire was clean not grey |

does the engine have much compression? is the idle speed screw set correct?, if not the could cause the carb to close to much cutting the engine, is the engine running too lean? try richening up the high speed needle and try that, second hand engines can be very hit or miss as never know what they have been through,
bring it down tomorrow night and let people have a look and see |

just taken it to park and it cuts out as soon as it gets a hint of a jump, tryed it down the straight and no smoke flat out, but revs lifting when it slowed down and burnt another plug, didnt get chance to richen it up, will get a new glow plug and try again. cant make tomorow night unfortunatly. |

I would hazard a guess from what you have said that its a mix of running too lean and a dodgy tank lid. If the engine is getting little fuel anyway, when the car begins to fall from the jump perhaps this is unsealing the tank lid and starving the engine of fuel?
When I had a Hyper 7 my tank seal was a bit dodgy and it would cut out after an almost exact point when the tank level dropped below a particular point because of a lack of pressure. There is a screw on the tank lid that you can tighten up a bit to seal it better but be careful not to go too far. |

thanks guys, yeah think you are both right, i have checked the high speed jet and its only 2 turns out from fully closed. way too lean i reckon. will check the tank lid screw later. |
