With the wind and heavy rain / sleet this morning, the work we did will be washed down, but will the last bits of astro still be where we left it?

The rain here was so heavy it set off the alarms on our cars!

Just a question...

If its rained does that mean the sand we have been putting into the astro will have sunk in??

if this is the case are we going to need to put some more in??

No Joe, it will have washed down where it's supposed to be - holding down the backing material down and letting the fibres that form the 'grass' to stand up above.

Just remember how much sand we got off the top as we rolled the astro over - it was all held within the 'grass' that's what made it so heavy to handle.

Your sand shovelling days are coming to an end Joe....it's nearly all done, it'll soon be just turn up and race (for everyone because we all know there are some that have always done that anyway....)

Like I've said before, you chaps that have yet to race on a proper width track should be okay - the transition from tight and winding to wide and open should be easy. The average 2M wide track and tight corners indoors at Laughton will have stood you in good stead - it'll be like driving on a carpark!

And as for the Truggie drivers amongst you, no excuse for cutting corners now!

Should have it Sam, you have txt.

Anyway back on subject. As far as I can tell we need to get a number of jobs done before we can use the track.

1. Stretch and pin the remaining astro.

2. Cut remaining shuttering to fit.

3. Lay flexi pipe to inside edges of shuttering.

4. Give the rostrum a once over.

I know i have said it before but i am gonna say it again anyway. You should all be very proud of what you have achieved, the track looks fantastic and the club has realy pulled together and given its members a track to be proud of. I cant wait to race it but I am not sure if I will get a chance this year though! Well done to all and thanks.

How about we work until 8 then we will all have time for a lap or 2.

Chris - How about a thread listing jobs to be done at the track so as people have time they can do the odd one. If not we will just get into racing and they won't get done...
