We now have a large amount of astro turf which looks like we will have to lay on the existing track asap due to the fact the track is now barely usable for the up coming events. To this end we require as many people as possible to help in laying of the astro turf beginning this coming weekend 2/8/2008. If you can help please respond to this post saying which day you can help so that we can plan the weekend out. Any updates will be posted here. Thanks in advance for your participation. |

I can give you a day (maybe two, but can't promise) - either Saturday 2nd or Sunday 3rd. having seen the size of the rolls, we need a LOT of muscle! |

But I doubt this will be possible. before I confirm with the guy that we want it, we need confirm we have enough bodies to do the work and which day. So please if you can spare a few hours next weekend please add your name and day to the thread!! |

We need the track to be in a fit and proper state for the upcoming 'big events,' the Emnorc and the 808 - making these a success will help secure the standing of the club in the national calendar, also enabling us to improve the facility for the membership and visitors for the future.
All available bodies are going to meet down at the track this Saturday 2nd at 12 (noon) to see if we can make a start on some of the track repairs.
Currently, the plan is to try and fill some of the worst holes and see if we can lay a couple of rolls of the astro turf to cover up the worst parts of the track. This will require some man power, mechanical assistance is not guaranteed at this time. Please bring any tools that you might think useful, shovels, yard brooms, JCB, road roller.
Don't forget to bring water (to drink) the weather is forecast to be dry and sunny, we don't want you de-hydrating!

I suppose if you bring your model car you can have a play too when we've finished......
All this is weather permitting - of course. |

This afternoon's track maintenance is now CANCELLED due to the MASSIVE amount of rain that has fallen overnight and continues to fall this morning. |

It's a case of decent weather and the availability of people equipment - and as long as Dave has no events on at the motocross circuit.
I think we need to get contact details for members and regular attendees, especially a contact other than the internet where we can keep interested parties informed - I have a bank of mobile numbers grouped so I can send cancellations notices out on race days - but on this ocassion not. |

Maybe we will need to try and arrange track work over a few evenings in the coming weeks, as we are starting to run out of time before the end of the month. We can't do any work next weekend as there is a big MX meet on. |
