Sorry Carl ........... meant the other one!! Was wondering where you were the last couple of weeks. I've retired the Nitrage from racing and bought a Hyper 7 which is a complete pain in the a$$, wish I'd bought a better Truggy now.

thats ok it was fun watching you try and get round the corners with the nitrage .the main thing is that you have fun and enjoy it .whats up with the hyper 7 is it the engine or the servos.

Engine was so insanely tight out of the box that I had to pre heat it to 200oF before I could get it to turn over.
Steering servo motor failed within 30seconds of the 1st tankful and the buggy hit a brickwall breaking a monkey metal knuckle and plastic hub. New metal geared servo, cnc knuckle and hub bought and fitted before the 1st tank was even run dry. Pull start spring broke twice, so bought a starter box and a nut fell off last week so fitted nylocks now.
The 3-port engine on the damn thing HATES me and just runs like a dog. When i finally got it to run without cutting out, the engine temp was a shade on the high side ie 300oF!!!!
Changed the glow plug, cleaned the air filter and reset the carb to factory ........... going to start again from scratch tomorrow.

The Nitrage on the other hand has been hammered and nothing has broken or bent and is easy to tune and holds a tune really well ........... shame it can't do corners!!!

If you want i will help you tune it next week best servo to get is a ace or a xp 1013 they are the best ones at the mo very strong 12.5 kilos i use the xp 1015s in my truggy .the hyper knuckles are cheap cast they allways break thats why most people change them for the cnc ones i have one spare cnc that you can have next week as i sold my st and i forgot to add that when i sold it .

Not understanding your reply regarding facilities Facilities for kiting were usually sparse and often pretty grotty at best. Burger vans and a discreet tree were the norm. Its nice to have a properly segregated pit area and posh toilets with running water AND a canteen!! Again not a complaint, quite the opposite, a compliment

Wasn't pulling you up about facilities comment - more the fact that you've never kited indoors.....or have you?

Your problem with the tight engine - my previous engine had to be lapped in with 3 in 1 and a black & decker before I could get it to run, you'll get there in the end. Carl (the one from up North) will be able to tune it (just don't let his lad near it!!

the carbon fibre guards will look great - but I would have thought something more flexible would be better?

Glad everyone that's attended has felt welcome and had a good time - that's what club racing should be, it would never suit the ultra competitive but it's a good fun way to let off a bit of steam in an otherwise crappy week at work - Roll on next Tuesday!

Amen to that!!

Indoor kiting has been discussed before.

Carl ....... gonna have another attempt in the next day or so, as I have to learn sometime. Really appreciate your offer and the way that engine hates me, I may well be taking you up on the offer.

Seems odd that the highlght of the week is now a Tuesday evening, not a weekend.

Think you need to tell my engine that!!!

That damn thing IS possesed.

I tried to show it who was boss and it cut out and refused to start ... it just sat there sulking, giving me a menacing look out the corner of it carb ... HONEST

If you are going to tune it in the car park remember to tune it to the length of straight at the track....

You are assuming it'll actually make it to the end of the car park!!

My initial aim is to get a half decent reliable running engine that doesn't cut out every 30 seconds. Fine and accurate tuning ius a distant dream at the moment.
Shame you have already bought the lads a buggy ......... could have done you a deal on a CHEAP 2nd hand one I have
